Description
People have asked me many times how I make my plushies, but Iβm really bad to explain stuff in English, so now I try to show how I made some parts of my plushies through the pictures.- The first part shows 3 different ways to make the toes, fingers and paws for the plushies.
- Second part shows that if you know how the plush looks from the side, then you can make all other patterns from the side-part.
- Third part shows how the forehead-pattern can be done by using the body-pattern as a base. It works too on the creatures with horns, like dragons.
Photographs are an examples from my plushies, were I used these pattern/sewing methods.

You make it look so easy, guess it comes down to on having a nice side view of the creature if you do patterns

Thanks a lot for this! I'm making my own plushies out of my own patterns and this will help so much with the paws! But I'm having trouble attaching body parts to the main body though I guess it would have been much easier to just make the whole body pattern whole. u.u Any advice on how to attach a body part to the body (for example the head or a leg)?

It is true, if you use thick fabrics, then attaching the legs would be almost impossible job.
One way is to use plastic doll joints.

Yeah, plush fabric is hard to find here. D:
I'll check out the plastic doll joints and how to use them, thanks for the info. c:

Wow, the body pattern thing is really helpful. I'm sort of new at plushies, and that's one thing I've never understood how to do. I think I get it now, though. Thanks!

Do you stuff them before you do the toes? Also what kind of fabric do you use for plushies in general? I'm trying this felt plush stuff and it's just falling apart. Stupid Jo-Anne fabrics people, I asked them what I should use for a stuffed animal and they had no idea.

Yeap, always.
I use very thin and flexible fabric into small plushies and thin teddyfur into bigger fuzzy plushies.

I think that's minky fabric, or stretchy faux(fake) fur.

I can't find "minky" anywhere. Is it a slang term and refered to as something else by the stores?

I think minky and fleece are the same thing. Just a guess lol!

People who work in the fabric stores don't know what it is, but they don't know anything.

Thanks! The people at the Joanne Fabrics here didn't know what it was until another customer told them. I've asked for the simplest items at that Jo Annes and they didn't have a clue where they were located. Sometimes I wonder if they are capable of locating their own noses. I probaly should write a complaint letter to the manager or maybe even the people who own the franchise about how incompitent and un helpful the people at this one are.

yeah, some people at places like that (hobby lobby) don't know the left hand from the right! I called and asked if they had pre-made paper mache powder and they said yes, but it was paper mache pulp! It said it RIGHT on the package!!!

IK! It makes you want to slap them in the face and say, 'LOOK! CAN'T YOU READ THE PACKAGE!!' (not really, but you wanna after wandering around hobby lobby for the paper mache section for 20 minutes!)
