This creates a sense of yearning. Your dirty fingernails emphasize your separation from the posh scene in the painting. Combined with the point of view composition, I imagine you're looking up from the metaphorical grave you just dug yourself out of.Β Maybe you're at the tail end of a three-day-drunk, haven't bathed recently and your steadying yourself as you rise from the floor where you passed out earlier that afternoon; waxing poetic as you share a smoke with a memory.Β

when I look at this photo I see one past, one past, and one present continues because hand, and one present continues from the past from her (where past is closer to your present) but for now present continues isn't there, not for you, not for the person in frame, it was only when you took the photo, so now I writing about past, which isn't for you.. what exactly... for you " There's No Past"
for me as watcher.. past is there, but also isn't if title from the photo notifies me about it.
