Kyouko has been quite a recurring character in my works recently. Maybe it's just because other fans tend to overlook her.And for those who are new to making OCs, this is why you don't make your characters have similar/the same abilities as the canon cast.

If the source material is limited like that, there's not a whole lot that can be helped. But when it comes to somewhere like Gensokyo, where the qualities of the supernatural stretch to the boundaries of imagination, having powers similar to another character's tend to seem like a cop-out.
That is, unless the character can't quite put out the same effects as the other, and would make a case of working off each other to cover each other's weaknesses, kind of like (hypothetically) Cirno and Letty.

On the flipside, a setting like Touhou permits similarly working powers simply because the cast is so versatile in what powers are given and what they can do that you can't avoid overlap. Just make sure your character isn't strictly better/worse than another.

It's debatable, but if I made it that way, the cluster of bullets would look like it's staying in place the whole comic. It would look kind of awkward.
