Before I go further I must say that I really, really sucked at driving Mako in Mass Effect. But still - think about it. Drop-off from several hundred metres? No problem, Mako's springs won't even squeak. Driving on planets of extreme heat or cold or even ones covered by water? Big deal. Managed to flip your vehicle upside down or have a steep mountain to go over? Worry not, laws of physics won't apply to Mako.And then again, there's my car. During summer it's like sauna on wheels. Driving on a pitted sand road makes it bump and tremble so much that sometimes I worry whether I'm leaving a trail of car parts behind me. And during past few weeks I haven't been able to open any doors because they're frozen shut - to open driver's side door I literally have to throw myself against the door several times and every time I'm afraid I will break the handle. I don't even bother to talk about snow and all the trouble it has been causing.
Seriously, I'd give a kingdom for a real-life M-35 right now. Failing that, a heated garage would be a very viable option, too.
EDIT: As if all that wasn't enough just today my car refused to start altogether. Dead battery, apparently. Aaand I have no way to charge it since the hood is frozen shut. Oh boy, how I love Finnish winter sometimes...

I was going to check something in a "hole" on some planet onse, so I got out of the mako and walked down to check the stuff, when I was done, it was impossible to walk up to the mako again... With other words, always make sure the mako is only 1 meter away from you!
I really want a mako, but it'd be dangerous to have me drive it...

I know the feeling. My car drives well enough and gets me to where I need to go (most of the time), but it's everything else about it that angers me. Its locks freeze over every night and I have to just about break the key off to get it to turn even a little. Then there's the muffler that's rusted through and about to fall off, the rear bumber is cracked and half-hanging because some jerk hit it in the parking lot while I was at class, one of the roof lights won't turn off wasting the battery away if I don't disconnect it, the horn's broken, its rusted frame shakes & rattles on just about every grave road, and the rear view mirror broke off when I adjusted it the other day.
I just wish I could have one decent car in my life...

Well, other than the fact that my car suffers from snow and cold (and I have to do a lot of digging), I don't mind snowy winters. This is the view I have from my window and I find it quite pretty.

I'm glad you do! Last winter we got the first snow in October and it lasted until the end of April, so that year we really had to do a lot digging through snow!

I was deliberately bad at driving it and I always play a Sheploo. I can only imagine Liara screaming her lungs out every time I used the retrorockets to fly off the to of a mountain.

Hahahahaha. Not 15 minutes ago we were digging my car out of the snow from where it got stuck last night (luckily, right in front of the driveway), and this could not be more true!
