This is Marie and Sanson from the anime Nadia: The Secret of Blue Water on their wedding day. I think it would be in 1900 ... They got married when Marie was 16, right? Their outfits are based on old photos I found in an image search I love you internet and the old paper is a torn book cover I scanned a while ago.

I'm still caught off-guard every time I see this reveal, mainly because I always saw their relationship as more father-daughter than, well, lovers. Β The age difference... eh, considering the show's logic about romance, I'm okay with that. Β And technically speaking, it's alright because Marie waited for the legal marrying age at the time.

Thanks! Erm, yes, Marie was somewhere about that age in the series, but in the epilogue she and Sanson get married when she is 16. There's like a 20 year difference between them. >.>()
