I got into Umineko no Naku Koro Ni recently. I'm caught up with the anime and I'm trying to play the visual novel, but I have a really short attention span so I've only read through the first chapter so far.I initially didn't like Maria, but I think she's growing on me. Thank goodness she can't make noise in the VN.
The distressed guy is reference to this sprite in the VN. It's ruining all the dramatic moments. XD I know there can only be a limited number of sprites, but seriously?

Bwahaha I have no idea what that anime is but these made me laugh so hard. I like the first one the best artistically but the hand in the pocket one is still cracking me up as we speak.

The anime is called Umineko no Naku Koro Ni and it's based on a visual novel of the same name. I'd definitely recommend it. The awesome plot makes up for the wonky animation and graphics.
