Description My patrons voted for the blending tutorial in this month's poll so here it is  I showed how I do the blending using hard, soft and texture brushes. I thought explaining Photoshop's blending modes might help some of you too so there they are

Blending might get a bit tricky when you want to paint actual skin so I added a step-by-step demonstration of how I apply these techniques to a portrait painting.

Oh and this tutorial explains how to make your own brushes too ^-^

Hope it helps!

I was able to make this tutorial thanks to my patrons support

Will this be on gumroad eventually? This looks exactly like what I was looking for.
Yet at the moment I haven't the money left to regularly support artists on patreon (and there are quite a number I would love to support there, including yourself). And I find it extremely impolite to subscribe, get what I want and then unsubscribe shortly after that.

I just uploaded it to Gumroad ^^ I'm so happy I covered something you wanted to learn about! but I wish you had subscribed to my Patreon for this term only, because it's always more affordable there I understand what you mean, and you're a very very kind and thoughtful person to say that but there's absolutely nothing impolite with subscribing for one month then canceling your pledge after receiving the rewards. I mean I don't know about other artists but I am 100% cool with that. so in the future please do that when you're interested in a specific term's rewards

and thank you, it means so much to me that I am among those artists

This is very kind of you to suggest, but to jump on the bandwagon, take what I want, and then get off, is absolutely against my principles.

I bought the tutorial on gumroad and I'm eager to find out with which brushes on Painter this will work best . Thankfully Painter can load psd-files, so I can use the practice sheet.

Thanks a lot!

if it's against your principles then by all means do it your way, but just know that it's totally fine with me

thank you so much for the purchase! I hope it will help you. you can always note me if you have any questions ^_^ I never used Painter so I have no idea if/how the brushes will work on it, but I added a jpg copy of both the tutorial and the practice sheet for people who don't use Photoshop so even if they can't open psds, they can always work with the jpgs also if you can make custom brushes in Painter then I can send you the image of each brush so you can make brushes out of them.

Oh my...   I just had my first day in digital painting... After like an year without drawing much for a lot of bad reasons! So many thinks!! I will think about it! But first have to actually be in your patreon!!  It will be this week for sure! Just want some days to make some simple black and white exercises so that my hand and mind remember how it's done.   I also saw some past tutorials you have for sale and I'm definitely getting some of them. So, I see you very very soon on patreon.

it's really awesome that you're going back to digital painting! you're probably a bit rusty after a year but it's not too long a break either. so I'm sure you'll get your skills back in no time

I just saw you already subscribed to my Patreon, thank you so much!
