Description This is a recoloured drawing from [link] drawn by David "CanisD" Brendis. What I changed was the colours, changes in the radar dome and the addition of markings. This sort of ' personalises' my raptors in BSG-25.

The Poseidon class is built to hold four raptor groups. SAR (Search And Rescue), FWR (ForWard Recognisance), TTP (Troop TransPort) and PTP (Personnel TransPort). Each group consists of two raptors, except for TTP and SAR who both have three. This gives a total of 10 raptors.
The raptor above is raptor 2132SAR. This is a special variant of the Raptor that had begun circulation throughout the fleet at the time of the attack. Manufactured by the same company, the B model variant included a longer ranged DRADIS, a faster cutting downward airlock, and removal of the ECM systems. This is to provide more room for first aid equipment, and rescue tools. the B modle also fixed a number of very slight design flaws recognised in the origonal Raptor model, and was designed to extend the service life of the Raptor.
The craft still uses a ventral weapons bay, but this has been halved in size for added fuel tanks. Also, the weapons bay only holds chaff and flair dispensers, but it can hold offensive missiles.

Poseidon currently has four of these raptors, two from Acropolis were sent over when it was rescued, and stayed on Poseidon when Acropolis left to search for more survivors. The rest of Poseidon’s raptors are the conventional A model.

most badass ship, the cylon raider mk2 class. it is most uncommon for a raptor to have weps on it. they are mainly used for search and rescue, recon and as transports. however they are capable of having rockets and machine guns on it.

Stupid comment: It should have a tractor beam.

Mm...raptors...

Your DRADIS dish looks a bit weird, but fine, I like weird designs.

I don't know how pilots are rescued via SAR, but in my fanfics, I prefer the use of grappling hooks, because getting too close to a pilot strapped in an ejector seat seems kinda.....dangerous.

the DRADIS dish is a more advanced version, longer range.
I dont know how the pilots are rescued either. I thought that they would suck the oxugen out of the inside of the raptor into tanks, then fly over to the pilot, open the door, scoop him/her up, shut the door, and represurize the inside. if they're in a seat, they're probably in a suit, so they take off the seat before they come inside the raptor. they can do that, cause in season 2...

***SPOILER IF YOU HAVENT SEEN SEASON 2!****

when Halo is told his daughter is dead, he releaces her 'ashes' out of the raptor when its just flying throuhg the fleet. he dose this with the door open, in a flight suit, and he throws the ashes out.

In season 3, the tyrol rescue mission gives us some hints, but still, rescuing an unconcious pilot strapped into an ejector seat is going to be challenging to rescue. If the raptor pilot doesn't ease in gently, the pilot may be hit so hard that he;s suit doesn't depressurize. And it's going to be hard to do complicated manuvers like that in the middle of a firefight like inRessurection Ship pt 2, Apollo's rescue)

well, the thing is that SAR would only be deployed in an event like a pilot is drifting past the recovery line ( going too far out to be retreived), after the battle, or when the fighting had moved away. I havent seen season 3 yet, but Apollo in resurection ship pt2 was rescued a fair way away from the fighting. also he had ejected pretty standardly, so the raptor crews might have been used to this.
