Ooh, that is interesting. I thought it was just 'cause it looked cool; some of the G3s have two-tone or gradient wings.
I take it it's not the normal growth of her wings, but something that was done in order to help her overcome her flight problem. Looking cooler is a side-effect that she can live with.
