Meet the Seraphim. They are the most powerful and advanced civilization in the entire Nozari Galaxy. Their mechanical bodies come in many forms, with this being the form taken by the gatekeepers of the galactic core, which are the individuals that people are most likely to encounter.

The Seraphim closely guard their territory, which forms a perfectly circular perimeter around the galactic core. These gatekeepers will appear at the borders to turn away any travelers that approach. According to historical and archeological records, The Seraphim have been maintaining this space in their current form for at least several million years, and likely much longer than that. Long ago, they transcended their physical forms to become immortal beings of energy that now inhabit enormous mechanical bodies, often several dozen kilometers in radius. And with their hyper advanced technology, they hold godlike strength.

Their origins remain a mystery, but they are willing to communicate some information about themselves when prompted at the borders. Through this, it has been gathered that the Seraphim are not a malevolent force. They make it a point not to interfere with the affairs of other civilizations, and instead act as galactic custodians of a sort. They work to preserve life, protecting many seed worlds within their territory, preserving samples of all of the unique lifeforms throughout the galaxy in case of calamity. There have been a few instances where huge swaths of life in the galaxy were wiped out. When the smoke cleared, the Seraphim would come in to reseed life on these dead worlds. This could possibly explain the unlikely coexistence of so many intelligent races in the Nozari galaxy.
