Draw or write about your apprentice preparing with a human trainer or warden in preparation for the mock hunt. Following scent trails, chasing a target, strength training, you name it!

Perseus' training has been... Progressing rather slowly, to say the least.

The apprentice had been hesitant about getting his paws dirty both in and outside of training, constantly worrying about getting hurt or injuring others in the process. However, what he didn't expect, were the harsh words coming from Phasma Elite Maia. The cougarpard was rather stern with her opinion on his cowardice, deeming him to be unfit of becoming a warden if his training were to continue being so fruitless. Her annoyance with him has left an impression on Perseus, who's since then looked up to the pale huntress, mimicking every step, move, and action she did in their training sessions.

And slowly but surely, Perseus' strengths began to shine through. The apprentice grew to be sure on his paws, gaining his confidence as he triumphantly defeated another apprentice in a mock sparring contest. Maia, who had been observing this closely, deemed Perseus to be ready to show his potential in a patrol outside of the city, wanting to show him the ropes of hunting in the wilderness.

It wasn't the first time he was out of the city, having followed an escapee out here with Ramses and Tzadkiel just a few months ago. Still, it felt weird, being out here without a track or scent in his nose, quietly following Maia as she led the two through the underwood. He couldn't quite tell how late it got, but he didn't make any remarks about his paws aching from how long they've been walking either, not wanting to show weakness in front of his mentor. Maia kept talking about preparing for a mock hunt, his final task as an apprentice – Something that still seemed far away in Perseus' mind, but was closer than he thought it'd be.

Just as the two crossed a meadow near rocky cliffs, the Cougarpard notified the apprentice about a scent. Perseus felt a shiver go down his spine as he too caught wind of it, leading him to the nearby bushes. A wild feline, likely out hunting, others probably not far away either. Swiftly, he disappeared in the woods on silent paws, while Maia tried to sneak up on the feline.

Meanwhile, Sophie too had been hunting with her mentor, but got separated from Junko as the sun went down. Sure she'd find her way back by herself, Sophie didn't seem all too worried about her situation, until she heard the crack of a branch to her left. Her ear was quick to alert her of where the noise was coming from, expecting prey to be near her, but what she turned to face instead... Was the sight of a pale feline stalking her through the tall grass.

Quickly she tried to hide in the nearby bushes. But the fledgeling, frozen in her fear, didn't take any note of the feline that was sitting right behind her, already expecting her move. She just barely hard to turn around, when...

Smack.

Sophie fell limp to the ground, immediately knocked out from the force of Perseus' hit at her head.

By the time Maia arrived, Perseus had already lifted the small fledgeling's body into his mouth by her scruff, gaining him a rare smile from his mentor.

"See? I told you practice makes perfect, Perseus."

Perseus has captured Sophie of Lightning Empire under the supervision of Maia.
