I wasn’t intending to start any projects this month, but I couldn’t pass up such a beautiful reference image. I wasn’t sure what to do with this at first, but eventually decided to break out the pastels for the first time in years and give it a go. And it made me remember how much I love pastels! 🥰 Then, when I went to spray fix the finished drawing, I remembered why I stopped using pastels - the fixative darkened down the highlights so much that I had to stop after two coats, even though the piece isn’t fully fixed. Ah, well. No medium is perfect. Regardless, I had a lot of fun doing this and would love to do more pastels in the future (though maybe I’ll stick to darker colors on lighter paper 🤔 )
