For Davidicus~Beware the Moroginh Merchants. Their smile is broad, but their daggers are broader still.

I felt like painting something for my buddy Davidicus. (He wrote me a short song last year lamenting my leaving Neversoft... twas the awesomest) Listened to the playlist titled Davidicus Songs, and started!
About three hours. I tried to paint it in the classic oil painting style. I drew it loose, then glazed in a tone, and then pulled the lights out by erasing. Then went to opaques. Was a lot of fun. It's weird that when I'm finally free of freelance, and various other work requirements, I find myself at the compy... painting... again...

I agree with AngellofFyre about the eyes, they're the most amazing part of the painting -- the textures are great and the colors blend together like swirls of fire, but I take a lot of pictures of frogs so I can tell you that is a PERFECT depiction of those marble-like amphibious peepers. It adds a touch of realism to a surreal character, which is nice because it gives the viewer something to relate to and because it emphasizes how weird and unique the rest of the design is. Genius.

awesome colours. and I like the painting style a lot, maybe it looks not really like oil but very close. I like how you've painted the bracelet, it's really hard to make material look like that while painting. And of course he's got a cute smile

Very nice I like the water color feel that it has to it. His head becomes a little to flat in comparision to the rest of your rendering but otherwise I like the feeling of the whole piece.
