This egg is born in a brilliant scattering of light, as thousands of eggs are cast off in all directions by its parents. Most of them will die in the emptiness of space, unable to find a suitable home before the hatchling within expires, but the few that, when skimming the atmosphere of a planet, sense a survivable habitat, change that world forever. The eggshell shatters in the atmosphere, unleashing a huge - and hungry - hatchling onto the planet below. It is ravenous even as an adult, and as it lives for hundreds of years, its appetite can easily threaten the planet it has happened upon.
