Looks great! Mind me asking, where do you find your reference for your interiors/ figures? Do you work from photography / make it up as you go?

It's kind of a mix. I usually do thumbnails without any reference, unless I have specific photo reference in mind that I want to use. I'll lay out the figures, and once I like the layout in the thumbnails, I do my full size roughs on the comic page. At that point I will try to find/take photo reference for any figures or parts of figures that I am not 100% certain I can nail without it. I actually use a site called cameroid that you can take quick pics with your webcam for any quick reference that I need.
To sum it up, I usually try to find/take photos that would fit what I have already roughly drawn in. I think drawing without reference helps keep it more fluid and organic, and then I use the reference to make sure I'm not too far off the real thing.

Thanks a lot for the reply, much appreciated! I'm trying to work out a realistic process that I can use, but without making a longish / expensive journey to reach the locations I want / without a cast of models I couldn't see a way around it- I think that's why my comics have lacked that realistic polish I want to get...Will check out cameroid cheers! I think for locations though I am going to have to try and get out there... I hate the idea of using google for reference, so avoiding being a shut in will probably be a good start

Yeah I totally didn't address reference for locales. I usually use a similar approach. I rough out what I want in a general sense, then I will either look through books I have, or on google for reference that I use as a sort of inspirational tool, finding little details that make settings believable that I add to my roughs. For the finished product I usually just look for each detail in the location instead of finding perfect reference. If I have an AC unit in a window, I find a pic of an ac unit...or I go outside and look at the one in my neighbors window. I also take a lot of reference pics with my phone, of places I think just look cool, and I'll stroll through that for any ideas, or I'll even straight up use one of my pics for the location.

Ahha! Good call- I finally have a better phone camera so that could work well, I have in the past made a couple of compos up by amalgamating different photos in Photoshop- Thanks again for the advice, I will certainly follow it and hopefully make some improvement- then just the minor issue of sorting out the plot..heheh! All the best J Thanks again!
