Description

A species found in Zoomythical Gardens , originating further south from where the Alos live.

They are based on the criosphinx statues found in Egypt, Thebes. They were believed to be representing the god Amun; he was portrayed wearing headdress with two plumes, which is why they come from painted or dyed feathers. That they are statues is also the reason for their size differences as well as them being guardians.

From what I can find, at least some of the statues were giant, which I wanted to include because having the ability to make giant characters is fun. But I also wanted Kin and her parent, who are criosphinx, to be about the same size at the rest of the cast. So, great variance within the population.

Sphinxes are often depicted as guarding something, so I decided to mix that with them being statues; criosphinx are fearsome warriors, but only when defending. When defending, they can not only fight with great strengh, but also root themselves in place so they cannot be moved at all unless they are killed --which is hard, they also become much tougher and resiliant. When attacking, they are much weaker and frailer.
