Description

She knew.

She knew something had come upon the land. She had caught the scent of new two legged and...a stallion? The flame colored mare ignored it as she walked through the Indian settlement to her rider , a girl with a long navy blue braid , tanned skin and bright eyes. ...so blue they out sparkled the water and skies .The girl laughed as the filly yanked her braid to grab hold of her attention .

"Hey easy there Blaze, I don’t have the same type of hair you do remember girl?" She giggled and ran her fingers delicately over the braid she'd woven into the horse's mane .Blaze nickered and pushed her nose into her open hand, asking for her usual treat of a fresh apple. Her rider complied and grabbed the treat from inside her small leather purse .As Blaze munched on it she walked off to explore as she usually did .The smell of the new stallion bothered her .She could sense it meant something big...Lifting her head she caught on to it...

And ran.

She ran swiftly to where some people different to those she lived with were .They certainly were not like Blue Child and her herd...She caught sight of a dog and snorted before walking around more to discover what had been brought into their homeland .Blaze sniffed the air and trotted out of the camp before someone saw her .This meant trouble...She could just feel it.

As she ran back to her home she couldn't help but feel that she was followed...She looked back and noticed a large black stallion, a rope hanging from the halter on his head .Blaze rolled her eyes and kept running...Till she heard hoof beats competing along with her .Looking out of the corner of her eye she saw the stallion speeding after her to match her gait .The challenge sent a shudder down her body.

She bolted .

The words her rider shouted ‘LET HER BUCK!’ shouted loudly in her mind as she ran. She could out run the wind for goodness’ sake! A stallion would be no such rival at any cost! She snorted wildly and kicked out her legs as the grasslands became a forest and they raced down the path forged by the Indian herd .Blaze looked back at the stallion and saw him catching up to her .She neighed a warning that he payed no heed to. She snorted annoyed and turned to face him, neighing at him harshly before storming away past him.

What was with him anyhow?This horse certainly was different from the others in the herd…

Trotting back to the village she overheard a name be called by someone.
