Description
This circle is used to transmute aluminum, chromium, and oxygen into pure ruby. OkamiAmeras requested this and I was happy to oblige.Based off the excellent tutorial by [link] ] <-Exxos starting [link] ] <-Here.
The transmutation itself works similarly to the [link] ] <-Verneuil Process[/url].
And for those curious, I rigged a symbol for Chromium since it doesn't have a true alchemy symbol... It's the Greek letters Chi and Rho which correspond to the periodic symbol for it. Actually, each of the symbols is somewhat rigged since I couldn't find truly definitive symbols for Oxygen and Aluminum.
One last note is switching out the Chromium for Titanium would result in pure Sapphires.

Ehhmm... Does this really make rubies? I see the logic, but I thought that more was required than alumina and chromium to make rubies, seeing as they are part of the corrundum family... Barium fluoride (BaF2) might help. Unless I'm an idiot, that is

Nope, you're not stupid. Β BaF2 can be used as well as chromium, but it's not needed to give the ruby its red color. Β It is used in some ruby manufacturing techniques.

Huh. Then I guess fused alumina powder with metal impurities is corrundum... Well, Wikipedia is often innacurate ^^'

Corundum is the mineral form of Aluminum Oxide (Al2O3).Β Different impurities give it different colors.Β Chromium is the most common impurity that can give it the red color for rubies.Β The last time I did research on the colors it showed titanium gave sapphires a blue color, but it seems that's changed to yellow and blue is iron.

The fundamental problem with transmuting valuable materials... If every layman who knows basic alchemy can create precious metals/gems, the substance itself would be worthless...
Nice job on the proportions of the circles, I can see that the oxygen circle is bigger than the aluminum, and the chromium.

Rubies would lose some ground, but because of the hardness of Corundum (the base compound in ruby and sapphire), the number of places it could be used practically would grow. I have a couple diamond circles coming up that would totally turn things on end though.

"Rigging" symbols as you put it is totally fine dude As long as the meaning is clear to the Alchemist, the Array is functional.
