Description
Well... I had in mind that I would need to create an array to assist haemostasis, part of what I called "first aid alchemy" that my character was supposedly researching. Using the techniques of the lovely , research on the interwebs, plus a huge helping of BS and speculation, I came up with this. The idea is to combine glucose in the bloodstream with nitrogen to create chitosan, an antihaemorrhagic agent. Apparently this is used in military medicine quite a bit. Chitosan, not alchemy. XDIn English: it is to clot the blood at the site of a wound so the injured party doesn't bleed to death. I have an intent to pull this little blighter out during role-play and slap it on a character who may well be getting shot soon. Heh heh.
Any suggestions, corrections or advice most appreciated.
Feel free to use it for RP purposes and so on, as long as you don't claim it as your own work.

Yes, it is... I'm not sure what point you're making though. :-/

Oh, in the description you just said "Apparently this is used in military medicine quite a bit. Chitosan, not alchemy. XD" So I felt obliged to make a FMA reference.

OIC. I thought it was pretty obvious that this was an FMA-related thing anyway. o_O; But thank you for commenting. ^_^

Well if you look at it this way, one chemical binds to another to form a new substance. You have to have the knowledge of how it works. Medicine and Alchemy at one time were pretty much one in the same.

Indeed...! If you look at the molecular level, everything is alchemy, in that sense. Chemistry and alchemy definitely were one and the same at one time. Medicine less so as it was more about chopping bits off and applying leeches. Keh keh keh The real difference between actual science and alchemy, is that pure alchemy is supposed to reveal metaphysical truths about the universe. In FMA-land it's more about doing cool shit that is awesome. XD

I wouldn't go that far, but I would say it's the "thinking man's shounen". XD

I've a question: Is the effect localized like the medication the military uses or is this going to be effecting the full bloodstream all at once?

The input will affect the bloodstream, as glucose is extracted from the blood as it flows into the circle of the array. The output is localised to the site of the injury as indicated by the "arrow" pointing through the array. This directs the transmuted substance to the location of the injury.
If one was to use this on someone's entire bloodstream, I imagine it would kill them. You could in theory use it as a subtle murder weapon to cause a thrombosis. This is not recommended. XD
