H.R. Giger's work has always been of remarkable fascination to me, so trying to live up to his design and aesthetic was quite a challenge with this piece. I have always loved bio-organic/bio-mech art, and Geiger is, to most people, the god of that genre.

I have always wanted to try my hand at doing a Xenomorph and I hope that I did this one justice. I spent most of my time with this piece in the last stage, just adding white highlights and pulling out that gross slimey texture from the shadows of the board. I really wanted to emphasize contrast with this piece, and with that in mind -- it's why I decided to keep it black and white (for now).
I've always had a preference towards black and white, but I think that this image could also work in colour if done correctly, do don't be surprised if you see a coloured version pop up after enough people have convinced me to add colour to it.

But for now, it's finished.

This is done on 16"x20" black suede illustration board, airbrushed with an Iwata Revolution airbrush, Wicked Airbrush paints, and black and white charcoal to tighten up areas.
