Description
For many years I've stared at this location, but only behind glass and inside a frame. Always crossing my fingers I would have my chance at that special opportunity to experience this amazing place for myself. Then finally, that opportunity arose. I made my plans, located the area and took a hike, twice actually. The first evening, I shot from 5 pm to 1 am, soaking up every bit of detail I could cram into my little brain. So as to never forget such a unique and historic place.
There was only one issue, the evening wasn't what I had pictured in my head for my shot. So, the following evening I returned to not only be greeted by an extremely hospitable German native named Peter Sierla, that by the way allowed me to shoot this with his 24mm f/3.5 TS-E, but the sunset I had been waiting for.
The temperature, the lighting, the location, the company, everything was just........perfect.
I'll never forget this evening.

wow. you've spent so much time in trying to capture the perfect shot. This is TRULY what photography is, and deserves such an excellent feature as a Daily Deviation. Such a job well done.

Beautiful shot Jacob, and well exposed. Lovely story to it also.Β
Personally I wouldn't even be giving this file in any size as a free download. You get too many people with lack of manners and respect just abusing the rules for their own gain here.

Man, with all due respect this is beautiful picture! I would like it to view as my wallpaper, but it is only 900x600.
You see, this is infuriating me. You see, we all live on earth - it is our common place. The place you photographed is created by nature. The whole scene is created by nature, not by you, it is very static, nothing comparing to Picasso's photos, those ones were really difficult to get. So you tell us a story bout you watching picture behind glass and what do you do?
You travel there, "xperience this amazing place for myself", simply take a good photo, not even with you own camera and then tell us "You may not replicate, use, manipulate, modify, print, or any other form of editing to my work without my permission." Many people cannot travel there as you did, and instead of allow them to admire this view in high resolution you force them to watch this 900*600 picture but "only behind glass".
Well, stick your copyright up your ass, my dear sir.

Please do not give people instructions on how to violate another users copyright.
The artist has explicitly stated that they do not want their work reused, please respect that.

Actually he used someone else's Lens, but it was his own camera.
However I would like to encourage you to respect copyright, regardless of this being "created by nature" he does indeed own copyright on this and the various rights afforded to him by copyright laws around the world. You may not agree with that but please respect copyright law and the wishes of the photographer.
I would also encourage you to refrain from making such remarks on images on this site again. It is incredibly rude and if you are found to be violating artists copyright we will take action against you.

Thank you so much for your help in trying to help others understand the etiquette of the site.Β I'm only trying to promote my hardwork and apparently others have problems with that.Β I really appreciate you taking the time to write a response to the rude comments and for all of your support.Β Thank you again

Indeed the scene is a product of nature, but the photograph belongs to the photographer. He worked for this photo: he planned, and when his plan failed he tried again.Β
His copyright helps (but in no way completely) protect him from having this photo stolen. If he releases a high resolution version, it leaves this image wide open to theft. People will download it, potentially claim it as their own, and reprint it for a profit.
There is no excuse for your rudeness. If this photo does not satisfy your wants, you can look for other photos of the location or perhaps even go there yourself.Β

Hey there, I'm glad I could help. I'm eternally shocked by the amount of people who expect art that has so much work put into it to be free/cheap for them.Β
