It would have been a once in a lifetime experience to discover this place. Hidden in a tiny place on the northern tip of Arizona, this sought-out gem could be passed by a hiker without a second glance. Once you come to the entrance of the wave, it's like entering another world. This is an experience I will never forget.

There's like a seperation line going around on all the cliffs at the same heigher. Perhaps originating from a time the place was covered in water? Marvellous.

Ooh! I've been there!
I hear it's really hard to get there nowadays, you have to participate in a raffle or something like that to get in.

Sounds like someone had a kick ass foray in Az. As a resident Arizonian, coyote butte is one of the many spectacles I show case to define my state to my Asian and European friends. That and antelope canyon www.ejphoto.com/images_AZ/AZ_Uβ¦, cactus wine, ostriches, the dunes outside of Yuma www.bing.com/images/search?q=yβ¦, and Dia De Los Muertos.

Β I gather from your profile you're a Ute.Β Part of my family'sΒ Mormon so naturally there's slew of them with spaces in Utah.

Impressive! Even for a geologist ( who have seen many geological marvels before) A beautiful not- of- this- earth (but it is!) landscape.

If you haven't had the pleasure, I suggest looking up the Utah salt flats where they gauge the latest model cars. After a down pour, they're literally heaven on earth.

I live around half an hour from the wave, and procuring a permit is an otherworldly thing. A great place, though in my opinion there are less popular destinations that are more of a gem~Β
Great photo though!

Wow. The colors, textures, and forms in this picture are so cool. The curves are amazing, and I love how you can see the old water line, and how the rock completely changes above it. he orange and blue are so pretty together. Really neat and unique shot.
