Description
(This is my kaiju entry for GodzillaSamurai's Kaiju Kontest. This monster was evented for this contest, but will possibly be seen in a later story involving my monster Monsturra.)Apollosaurus’s Stats:
Height: 55 meters
Length: 105 meters
Wingspan: 115 meters
Weight: 30,000 tons
Abilities:
-Armored hide can withstand all conventional weaponry and weak atomic breath blast
-Can absorb solar radiation through frills on it’s back and fire orange energy balls from it’s mouth.
-Can create massive gusts of wind by flapping it’s wings/flippers.
-Wings/Flippers can be used as bludgeoning weapon
-Can expel water or air through gills on back for flight or to swim faster
-Can fly at Mach 1
-Can swim at 60 knots
Weakness:
-Slow on land due to short legs
-Will become arrogant when it thinks it is winning a battle and can make mistakes
-Solar absorbing abilities and energy ball projectiles lessen during night. It has to use reverse energy it stores in it’s body, which leaves it drained.
Origin:
Apollosaurus is a genetic engineered marine reptile that was created by a ancient civilization, a possible form of guardian. It had laid dormant at the bottom of the sea for centuries until a series of illegal bomb test awaken it from it’s slumber. Disturbed and enraged the kaiju cause mayhem and destruction until it comes face to face with….

I admit, I could make him a little thinner and his flippers a little bigger. Still, I did explain that his flight is more based on propelling himself like a jet, so the wings are more or less used for direction things.
Thanks though. I didn't want to make him too overpowered. I think simplier monsters are better than Dragonball Z inspired ones.

hmmm thats true i guess i forgot that was the way it moved, its a really cool idea especially for in the water
and yeah its cool that you didnt give him to much in the line of specials haha like in dragon ball z hahaha... (Fan) lol i really dont think its like there were allot of specials in DBZ i mean there were allot of Ki attacks but most of the time it was more like every other character has 5 or 6 abilities that are unique to them by using the same power in different ways but yeah you got a point i still think it was a wicked sereis with cool powers and plenty of fights and flashing lights

thats definately true, it was a cool series but they could have done better with the plot then the most super powerfull villain of all is crossing the line we need to go kick some sense into him, oops we had to kill him now im the most powerfull except for this new guy.... yeah but that was probably the fault of the people producing it and not the guys who actually had the idea

yeah your probably right, he may have not even expected it to get that far cause the storyline as a whole didnt seem quiet that well planned out thusly the repetition

His line art is pretty crisp. Theres only two things that struck me odd. One was that fact he could fly that fast and be that heavy. Does he pull a Gigan and kind of levitate off the ground? I want to know where your thinking is. Otherwise I'll have to go with 'he's a kaiju, he can do anything 
The second thing I'm pretty sure wasn't intentional but as it stands its quite hilarious. ' Will become IGNORANT when it thinks it is winning a battle and can make mistakes '. I'm sure you meant arrogant but reading it over makes me chuckle. Imagine he's beating Godzilla to a pulp then suddenly gets a jolt of amnesia and has no idea what on earth is going on. Thats what I saw when I read that 
Anyway, laughs aside this kaiju is a good solid monster. He has some of the old Titanosaurus in him and that gives him some old school appeal. Kudos on your naming process as well. You dug a little deeper then the others with a Greek name instead Aztec/Atlantis thing we got going. Brings his whole solar powered image together.

Well, those big ass gills on his back help with his aerial abilities. He isn't that fast though (He's slower than Rodan).

Thanks for the compliments. I thought Apollosaurus sounded nice. First off, it's unique (which you agree with me. Second, it goes well with his solar abilities (Apollo was the Greek God for the sun). Of course, you already mentioned this (beware, a little sleepy).

No problem. I agree, while most of them were lacking in the power department, the Showa monsters had personality. They were just more interesting, they had character. And so does Apollosaurus.

Cool. I know that he would work well for Monsturra universe as well (I kinda left his origin open to either Godzilla or Monsturra). He would be a cool ally/foe for my other kaiju.

Thanks. Yeah, he does have a old-school kaiju type feel to him. If you ask me, he reminds me of Chandlar from Ultraman, except tougher (he would give Red King a good deserving beating). I always think the Showa monsters were more interesting then the Heisei/Millenium kaiju.

Very cool, great detail, and the head design is fantasic! But you should put "wingspan/flipper" in the stats, that was a little confusing.

Welcome. Well, my thought of what I wanted the kaiju to do was fly, swim, and somehow be resistant to Godzilla's beam. My first creature was a space dragon named Mogu (named after a unused Toho monster) but that fell through. The second monster was a giant mutant sea slug/snail, but I thought it wouldn't be interesting. The third was mostly a saurapod dinosaur kaiju, but I think it lacked some of the ideas I had. Then, I made this guy, thought about solar energy, and POW! Now, the reason it is called Apollosaurus is cause in Greek mythology, Apollo was the God of the sun. I thought it was cool name.
Oops, ranting off the head, but I wanted the flippers to be a little wing like and strange.

As for now, one, Omegaken. That doesn't mean that it won't have more. I already said that Apollosaurus might be included in my kaijuverse. My other monster so far is Ramuzile, which is a Rodan/Mothra style monster, though I haven't gotten any work of it done.
