I really wanted to get this done on halloween, but alas, Ive had a crap-load of exams these past 2 weeks...Anywho, for those of you that didn't notice, the composition for this was majorly inspired by Flack's "Marilyn". (Look it up and you'll see what I mean...) Of course instead of Marilyn Monroe I decided to do a tribute to my favorite actor- Vincent Price. Most of the items in this drawing hold some sort of symbolism of his life. Other items are just thrown in for compositional purposes (the glass, apples, rose...)
This was done with colored pencils and micron pens. I think its 14x17in, but I can't remember. It's the same size as that peacock drawing I did a few weeks ago at any rate...

You're mistaken, the correct term is "no prize."
so it should read as "Oh and if anyone can tell me why that egg is in there, you will win no prize."

I love it! It's a beautiful tribute to one of the most awesome people ever grace the earth 
Especially the egg...as a referance to when he played a villain in the Adam West Batman series called Egghead! XD haha

Oh I do adore this what an interesting man he was just finished waching house on haunted hill (again) oh and I assume the egg is a refence to a certain egg fight he started on the set of batman (no prize for me)

The Egg is from Edward Scissorhands because he built the machine that made the cookies! This is a beautiful piece of artwork it really is!!! Vincent Price is My favorite actor!!! We have a group set up called the Princes-of-Horror that's dedicated to Vincent Price, Peter Cushing and Christopher Lee!!!

Ooh, good guess! But actually the egg was supposed to represent his role as Egghead in the old campy Batman series! I love Vincent Price as well (obviously) and Christopher Lee is fantastic. I have to admit I'm not sure who Peter Cushing is- hopefully Wikipedia will give me a clue haha

Well thank you! I know about Price's love for art which is why I included the pomegranates in this piece (reference to Dali's art) and the turquoise bracelet. I saw a picture of that bracelet and read that it was given to him as a gift from an art university which he donated some money to and thought that it would be an appropriate addition to his still life

Thanks! I put a lot of work into both the drawing and the research behind the images in the portrait last year. Hopefully I'm as happy with my upcoming Wolfman portrait of Lon Chaney as I am with this one

Haha, thanks. I actually read that Egghead was on of his favorite roles just because of how ridiculous it was. I heard he even got in a real egg fight with both the director and Adam West while they were trying to film the show!
