Anne Rice's? In here this new series (Vampire diaries.. i think that's the real title) was translated the same as the Vampire Chronicles from Rice, that's why I'm asking.

lol, yes Anne Rice. to tell you the truth I can't stand the 'vampire diaries' i tried watching it once and just got very, very angry! XD it's the same with Twilight.

meh. I saw the first chapter on tv and I think it's way to similar to Twilight: teenagers + vampires... in love. I think these series are more like fan service to me and follow a too obviously commercial inclination.
Rice was a lot more deep and interesting in her proposal with her Vampire Chronicles, that's why I like her a lot, well the first novels. What I loved from her work was that she was the first one I read that told the story from the vampire's point of view.

I despise whats happening right now with the whole twilight franchise....it angers me. I'm a total nerd, i will admit it, and i'm a nerd for vampire lore and whatnot. so it's just irritating to me that these stupid little pop-culture douche bags are taking my fandom and horribly ruining it. DX
I do love anne rice, she's freaking amazing! i love all of her books really, especial the ones where LEstat is the narrator, and I have to say that Memnoch was epic.

hahaha. Me too, I've read to many vampire novels and I'm pretty picky right now with them, personally I like the concept of live vs death, morals/ethics vs killing for eternity and old fashioned atmospheres.
Publishers are looking to what sells more and teenagers are good to exploit, so since most of girls are looking for love and some fairytale kind of things they're just looking for a story that fits such "needs".
Lestat is more.. lets say proactive compared with Louis, and the guy does more things without getting depressed for everything. XD I didn't like Memnoch, I got somewhat bored with it.

heh, yeah louis. He's sort of a jackass in my opinion. a winey jackass. i just love Lestat, his personality is amazing, but i think if i met him (or someone like him) in real life he would just get on my nerves. XD
and, yeah. memnoch is sort of boring but there's a lot in there thats really interesting. i read it all the way threw in about a day.
