While it looks awesome the overall design of the device doesn't really feel covenant or even all that much alien for that matter.

yeah, I know. But I need to write a story of one of my characters and a diary war was best idea.

Like I said it looks great and that idea seems as good as any to make a story for a character. Just suggesting you can make it look more like something the covenant might use.
