She knew this place.
She had dreamed this dream before.
The lake called to her, an inescapable force that beckoned from the deep.

She answered it, wading into dark waters.
Above her, the heavens swirled in a celestial dance. So mesmerized by the moon, the stars, the incandescent sky, Amberly failed to recognize the metallic redolence that had begun to seep into the atmosphere.

A trickling sound drew her attention, and the huntress watched, bemused, as crimson droplets pierced the crystalline surface.
Was it...

Blood.

Her focus shifted and she looked beyond the tainted pool and into the reflection it held. The apparition was undoubtedly her. Same face, same ears, same fur. But the eyes... the eyes looking back at her were not blue, but a brilliant shade of green.

By now, cerulean was oversaturated by vermillion, and she soon found the source. Across her throat was an angry wound, red and weeping, and most definitely fatal. She tried to scream, but only a strangled whisper emerged from her tattered throat.
