Here's an updated digital version of the first piece in the series:See the rest of the Shippuuden series here:
This time the Shippuuden Naruto characters are at the prom and that's why I didn't draw them in their original costumes (it wouldn't have made much sense). I'm sorry I couldn't cram in as many characters in this picture as I did with the last one. But I hope you enjoy it just the same! I drew this using a V5 Precise pen and I colored everything with Prismacolor pencils.
Finally, you can read what each character is thinking below:
Tsunade: "This was the WRONG day to wear green."
Rock Lee: "Apparently hard work does pay off."
Sai: "I like big butts and I cannot lie. You other brothers (who lack penis) can't deny."*
Hinata: "Naruto will have to notice me this time!"
Temari: "Since when were you such a romantic, Shikamaru?"
Shikamaru: "Since I set eyes on you, my love."
Naruto: "Wow, Hinata is really booty-poppin'!"
Gamakichi: "Hey Naruto, when did Hinata become such a fox?"
Gamatatsu: "Almost there..."
Gaara: "Busted..."
Jiraiya: "Simmer down kid, I won't get you in trouble if you give me a shot."
Sakura: "This sucks, why didn't Sasuke ask me to the prom?"
Ino: "Sasuke is such a dark, sultry and mysterious loner. I must have him!"
Sasuke: "Yeah, I'm gellin'."
*this is my joke on the song "Baby Got Back," by Sir Mix-a-Lot (1992).

Hehehe, that's what I was going for! I know there's a lot of Shikamaru fans out there so I had to make him ultra charming in this. He also appears in two other pictures of my Shippuuden series that I've been making for a while now. Thanks for the fav!

Yay! Did you notice in my artist's comments that I have a part 2 to this (called "Shippuuden at the Prom")? I'm currently working on making a third one too, I have no idea when I'll be done though... The third one is called "Shippuuden at a LAN party." I'm trying to sort of make a series but all of the funny little details are REALLY hard! Artist's block has also slowed me down a bit... But thanks for the fav! Nice comments from people such as yourself always puts me in a super happy mood!

Well my first Shippuuden drawing did bring me a LOT of attention, it surprised the hell out of me. It was the first time I had gotten over 2000 views in a single day!

I think 7000 views would kill me... In a weird way, I kinda dread that level of popularity. That's only because I don't think I'd be able to keep up with the comments, I like to personally reply to each person (like you for example!).

yeah u r right, most of the people that appears in the "popular" section never reply, and they get like 5000+ views and comments per day, but if they reply the just copy and paste "thx

Yeah, I think the moderate amount of popularity I have now is just fine as it is. I like getting lots of favs and people talking to me but I really like having time to talk back. Some of the coolest people I've ever known online I've met on this site!
