I'm kinda pleased with this guy. Although I feel like I made his left horn a bit thin.....Related content

Thanks! I try to make them look graceful and more traditional as opposed to how faun and satyrs tend to be drawn nowadays. lol

AH, centaurs and Satyrs! I'm glad you used the term Satyr, instead of Faun. I always knew them as a kid and were my fav growing up inΒ Greek mythology, including: Xena and Hercules series. I was THAT kid and still am. (Where I live people have no idea what that is and only had one person compliment my centaur shirt-same creatures whom made Conan the barbarian-the original made the art on my shirt so its pretty spot on-that's what some guy at wal-mart told me.)
I can imagine a red haired satyr. You should have added freckles sir!
I tried a dab at satyrs and sucked.
The body looks elegant and sound. I like the hair, for it doesn't look so...umm.."domestic?" I tried to think a bit prospective but it depends on your individual preference.Β
Your satyr needs a name too XD LOL! (thoughI should leave you alone, I'm too busy having trouble with names currently U.U pathetic.. )

Funny thing about satyrs and fauns is that satyrs apparently didn't originally look like how they do nowadays. They were originally depicted as almost completely human looking, but with donkey or horse ears and horse tails growing out of their backsides. Basically more human, bipedal versions of centaurs and onocentaurs. XD The rustic god Pan was the originator of the horned goat-legged style which influenced the fauns of Ancient Rome and the satyrs in later art onward. However, there were apparently a group of rustic daemons/demigods who were descended from Pan called the Panes who were depicted with cloven hooves for feet and goat heads! You should totally check out theoi.com! You'll probably love it! They even have names of individual satyrs, centaurs, and nymphs listed on there!

Interesting detail in analysis on satyrs Pan is no different then a creator as to the one that created centaurs Ixion and Nephele
But I'm not going to back down that the most charming and inviting saytr I've seen is Mr. Tomnus ^.^Β

Yes, Mr. Tumnus will always be my default idea of what comes to mind when I think of fauns. ^_^
He's practically the OG! If C.S. Lewis and J.R.R. Tolkien had pooled their ideas together to make on hugely epic fantasy world, I can totally see fauns as being long-standing, steadfast neighbors to the hobbits of the Shire!

Very Good One!
Just I find not at the same quality level the hair on the chest, shoulder and forearms: I think you could find a more appropriate way of sketching it...
Forgive me this critique: just because effect could be better.
Keep on working, you draw good stuff!

Thanks!
How do you think I couldβve done the body hair then? Do you think he shouldβve been more hairy or less hairy?

No itβs ok for the quantity, but itβs the kind of sign that itβs not so ok to my eyes: that looks quite like bloody scratches... body hair should look like curly signs, like little loops...

OH! Ok. The thing is I used an earth tone marker of a sort red-brown color for more auburn hair. Guess I didnβt make it brownish enough when I edited the drawing when I scanned it.
