Description This picture is based on the illustration by the late Pauline Baynes in C.S. Lewis' The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe. Although I wanted it to be similar to the original illustration, I strongly felt that it should be a bit different. For example, the dryad is more nymph-like than tree-ish, also some of the statues were changed in one way or another. Some characters in this scene are easily more identifiable than others, like the faun, the dwarf, the centaur, the pidgeon, the raven, the dove, the cardinal, the bluejay, the lion, Aslan, the dryad, Giant Rumblebuffin, and the unicorn. However, some of you migh have trouble identifying which character is what, paricularly the statues in the background. Well, the small old man poking behind Aslan's rump is an old black dwarf, the black haired girl in the purple dress ad pink bandana is a female black dwarf, the blonde haired girl in the orange tube top is a female faun, the red-haired man with the horns is a satyr, and the woman with the dark brown hair and purple tube top is a female centaur with an appaloosa horse body. As for the statues the ones on the left-hand side are from foremost to backmost: A female satyr, a dog, a rabbit, a dwarf, a naiad, a river god(male naiad), and a female dwarf. The statues on the right-hand side are, also from foremost to backmost: A donkey, a wood god(male dryad), a child satyr, a bear, an eagle, and a winged horse.
The original title was going to be "What Happened About The Statues" but unfortunately there wasn't enough character space.
This picture was put up for auction on March 19.
Unfortunately, none of the art work was affordable, so the picture was returned to me and my family. Thankfully the original work now hangs in my father's cubicle at his work.

Yeah, in case you can't tell what some of them are, since many of them are clustered together, they're statues of a dog, a female stayr, a dwarf, a naiad, a river god(male naiad), and female dwarf, a wood god(male dryad, he's the one that looks like a guy turning into a tree), a donkey, a winged horse/pegasus, a bear, a young satyr boy(he's cowering in fear right next to/infront of the bear), and an eagle.

There's quite the contrast between the statues and the living creatures. This is one of my favourite scenes in the book!

I could see the similarity between your work and Pauline Barnes, but you've put your own spin on it.

Thank you. I'm currently doing some drawings of the statues in the background so as to make it easier for people discern what is what.
