Description So my computer is slowly dying. I’ve knows this since late last year. The biggest symptom is that every now and then it will just shut off. It happens once every few days. I’ve gotten in the habit of saving frequently while I work, but I sometimes still lose stuff. That happened two week ago witha  Ghost Kiss page and a month or so ago with both a Medusa page and a Korra. page. That’s what happened today too. I finished up coloring and stepped away for a short break before I began lettering. When I came back the computer had shut down. I thought I had saved before I stepped away, but apparently I hadn’t saved at all during the entire process. It’s frustrating. It’s 7am now and I’m too tired to recolor the page before I go home to sleep, so today you guys get a black and white page instead of a color page. Sorry about that.

As for the computer could be any number of things from overheat to component damage, just hope you don't lose any more.

If this is a desktop system, the most likely culprit is the power supply unit.  In a desktop computer, it's a separate part which can be separately replaced for a heap less than buying a new computer.

The plugs are also pretty much idiot-proofed so you usually can't plug the wrong plug in anywhere, so if you have even the slightest mechanical aptitude, you can replace it yourself to save even more.

Just make sure you get a power supply which has at least the same power rating as your current one, if not a little higher.  It'll be stamped into it somewhere.

Power supply was replaced recently, and it did help. The new one may also be failing, but it seems clear to me that something else is going on.

I had a computer that would randomly shut off and start up again a few moments later.  It turned out that the RAM was bad.  I ended up spending $450 because I took it to two crappy repair shops who couldn't fix it.  I eventually did the repairs myself, and it has been working just fine for the five years since.

I'll look into that.

Experience says to take care of it sooner rather than later.  If you lose power while saving data, your hard drive could be corrupted.  My system powered off during startup, and the boot sequence got caught in a loop.  After I replaced my RAM I had to employ some repair and recovery tools before my computer would start again.

I'm planning on doing something about it as soon as I can afford to. Hopefully that won't be too far off.

It might be the power supply.. or at least I hope it is since those are usually fairly cheap.. I think. It's been awhile since i priced 'em.

Modest's first bid to be the boss of kid prison has landed her in the SHU.

Replaced teh power supply a few months ago, so unless it's failing again (which it could be) I suspect it's something else.

Man, even when she just barely starts talking the teacher looks angry. Oh well, Medusa has broken out of tighter security before...

Sorry to hear what happened to your computer. If I were you, I'd probably start saving up for a new one if it's becoming so much of a hassle.

Yeah, I've been saving since the beginning of the year, but money is pretty tight. I'll have enough eventually.

Teacher's probably annoyed that Medusa is interrupting her. BTW the teacher seems really really strict and scary for a kindergarten or yr 1/2 class. Hope Medusa does a jail break XD.

Sorry to hear about the PC troubles, hope they get fixed or that you can get a new one, and get some sleep back.

I wonder what the teacher is so mad about. I'd be happy if my 5-6 year old kids were THIS assertive during their first day of class with a bunch of kids they didn't know.

And Modest has learned the magic of friendship.

Black and white or color. It's still funny and very enjoyable. Modest Medusa is super adorable. She always gets me with that line 'My mom's a snake!'.
