Description "Originally SkyDive city's most prestigious mansion, the TeaTime Asylum seems to have given up on sanity and grown bars on its windows over time. Maybe one day it can be returned to its former state...Oh! Is it time for tea? So soon!"

Thanks so much! I try to keep my stuff a bit surreal but still containing enough everyday objects to keep things tied to reality. Thanks for the comment!

Your welcome.
That's a very good concept, that give a "theme" to cling on for each picture, and that's very effective !

I really like this picture, I especially love the asymmetry of it. It gives a feel of a warped world !! :>

Thanks so much! I'm glad the "warped" tone of the picture came through!

Ya, it reminds me a lot of Escher; I find myself making a story for the world you have created with every picture.

You know it's funny but a lot of people tell me that! Some of them actually do have a story. If you look in the skydive city folder (sorry, I'm not trying to advertise for my gallery!) most of those pictures in there are connected with a loose story. Sorry for the long comment!!!! Thanks for your comment!

Long comments are the best because they actually encourage conversation !! (hehe)

I'm already diving deep into your gallery, I was just telling my friend that your art really hits the spot for me. It is simple and complex, jumping outside the confined box of reality; still grounded by things we can identify with.

Your art makes me quite happy, while i see amazing colours, perfect forms, fantastic worlds I could never imagine in other art, none of it makes me think. Your art keeps my eyes glued, soaking up every detail, the nooks and crannies of the pictures like braille for my mind.

:>

Wow. Thanks you so much! I've never had somebody tell me that in my life! It's always, "couldn't you add some color" or "the main subject in this is too hard to find," of "your stuff is too weird, what goes on in your head?". Art is practically my whole life and I'm gonna stick with it.

It's nice to know (in fact it's wonderful!) that someone took the time to look at the meaning behind my artwork. A lot of my art was drawn while I was frustrated, or angry, or extremely emotional (aka REALLY tired). My art is part of my life. Thanks for viewing and thanks for the comment. I almost teared up! (cue corny dramatic music)

I have to look at your gallery!!!!!!!!

As a child, unbound by convention and rationality, I would get lost in story books. There are a lot of picture book artists that put so much detail into their 2 page drawings. Even when I knew how to read I would ignore the words and get lost in the story of the pictures. I would spend my time looking at the dull coloured corners where they had hidden that little man with a ladder or a telephone. Looking back, I feel like a lot of those artists were drawing 2 stories, one for them self and another for the book.

That is probably why it irritates me that people always insist on colour. Colour is a great thing, but its impact is often such that it makes the most interesting of details disappear behind it.

On a note of people telling you your stuff is too weird, I feel like such people need to be told that "He draws for himself, not for you." - or something to that extent.

You wont find much in my gallery, I have an issue best described by a quote from someone I can't recall: "People are too concerned with what something SHOULD look like, instead, they should be concerned with what it DOES look like." I've only started drawing again in the last 6 months or so (have a poor grasp on time).

Well art's hard like that...I usually hate a drawing while I'm doing it and even when it's done. Some people tell me it came out great while I see all the little mistakes. I call that "turning the canvas". They say you're never supposed to look at a picture upside down or you'll notice how many lines are uneven. (try it sometime, it's weird.)I think I "turn the canvas" too often and I'm too concerned with what went wrong with a picture or what it SHOULD look like. Another thing they say is that great art is abandoned, not completed. If you're not happy with how your art comes out then I think that's pretty normal! Most of the time what's in our heads is hard to get to paper. I can honestly say not one of my pictures came out like I pictured them. I could always add more but to finish them, I had to "abandon" them, in a way.

WOW I'M A MOUTHFUL.

thanks for listening and don't give up on your art!!!!!! I'd love to see what other art you got in you!
