Description
*I felt that the saturation on this image was a little high so I have reprocessed*This is my third visit to the Bluebells in Micheldever Wood, Hampshire. I went back for the setting sun to an area which I know allows the light into the forest. I had made many compositional studies on my last 2 visits and wanted to "add light" to some of the ideas which I had realised.
I used a telephoto lens here to isolate the trunk of a Beech tree. I love the side lighting on the tree and flowers.
The sun was softened by thin, low cloud which works perfectly here but there was a gentle breeze which I had to work around.
This shot required no filters to be used and the processing is minimal. I used Lightroom to process from the RAW file to a useable image. I used the Canon 5D Landscape profile within LR to correct the image colours and contrast. I find these camera profiles excellent and they save me processing time.

Oh, this looks so awesome! I really did struggle trying to photograph bluebells this spring, they just never look as awesome as they do in real life. There's this little grove outside Dormansland village in Kent, the whole forest floor was covered in them, you didn't even have where to step on. Really wish I could have captured it like you did.
Very nice work!

Beautiful - incredibly beautiful!! There are some fantastic bluebell shots to be had near Dummer, Basingstoke way. I've never managed to find the ones at Micheldever Woods sadly.

This is probably the same wood, Dummer is not far from here I think.

Absolutely beautiful lighting and focus. The golden sunshine reminds me of sitting in the grass at the park on a summer evening...

Thanks Juha. It really is a special place to be, it's taken me a little practice but finally I am beginning to translate some of it's beauty - I hope.....
