It's unusual to see the Dakata with the rest of the flight.

It was originally meant as a trainer for the Lancaster, so it didn’t do a lot of displays, but it’s getting to be quite a popular item in its own right.

Ah, I'd not heard that (although it makes sense). I was told it was the transport for the BBMF ground crew.

It could well be both, the trainer story is what the commentators at the display told us.

Agreed; They're never seen in displays, but I know the BBMF has a couple of Tiger Moths as trainers for the single seaters.

I don't know about the Tiger Moths, they do have Chipmunks, which are sometimes in the static line up at a show. The RN Historic Flight sometimes have a Chipmunk routine at Yeovilton too.
