Description Ok, so i cropped this drawing simply because i loathe the bottom part of the frame. There's the colour version in the Gallery somewhere, equally bad - what was i thinking at the time ? i can remember that it was never about actually drawing Batman, it was about the Anatomy. None of this art was referenced in anyway. i just went straight at it with the Idea of a Sculpted statue of Batman, stood on a giant Lions head above a city scape. did it turn out to how i wanted it ? nah. will i redo it at some point ? will i fuck, it's been 10 years almost.

It's ok Mr.j i just need to brush up on Tonal Schemes - it was never my strongest. i'm never gonna erase this style from my system, i just need something to keep me focused unless i'll loss the will to stay here. you know ? i'm not drawing anything yet. but soon we'll pick through some of those idea Mr.j and do something good.

some issues describing form with light.  For example, the lower leading edge of the biceps looks like a flat blade because the part that is far doesn't recede and subordinate to the part that is near (it doesn't turn around the form, just terminates on a flat plane).  It's just a matter of studying how to use the hatch to pop the near part of the mass.  Because it's inside the silhouette you can't do that by feathering to black on the silhouette.  One way to do it would be cross-hatching to describe the cross contour.  Oddly, though, you understood the form because you handled the biceps of the far arm well enough.  I think you just get mesmerized by the repetition and detail so that once you're in the zone it can be a problem to see the forest for the trees.

Again Pat, i'm uploading these to view for myself, the faults and trying to stay clear of what i've been doing in the past. this way if i keep reminding myself of these mistakes then in future drawings i do, these no no's are present here for me to look at and it's a kinda warning sign, 'do not slip back to this style' aah yes, back then i was Studying David Finches art. his Anatomy tends to be like this very detailed but his has a more Tonal edge\dark and light - he's a great artist - i just referenced elements from his work.

true ! i get mesmerized by detail in a nutshell !100 % correct as usual man !XD

Yes, he was my first thought when I saw this.  Which is why I made the comment about form.  It's easy to lose sight of the goal with this kind of treatment.

I think you could do with giving yourself a bit more credit, sir; this is an awesome piece. The attention to detail is off-the-chain (so much intricate shading!) - I know we're massively different as far as skills are concerned, but if I ever produce work of this quality, it will be worth all the time and effort I've put in to honing my craft. You're clearly a very talented artist!

When i started this Particular Drawing, i did have in mind a David Finch, (Marvel\DC artist) style of Art. Everything was going fine until i finished, looked at the entire project and was disappointed by how the lower section turned out. if you examine the original Drawing in its entirety, you'll see exactly what i mean,     if you look beyond the bad Tonal colour scheme and focus on the legs, it appears that the left leg is missing even though the Smoke is masking where the leg should be. that was my concern.

You compliments though are greatly appreciated and now i'll be sure to check your style\art out and the least i can do is watch you and fav your style.

Thank you for the explanation! I'm totally honoured to have you watching me; it might well be a long time before I'm at your level, but as I'm sure you're aware, part of the fun is the journey. Again, my thanks and respect to you!
