Some people, some people, They just Look, Barely enough to stare -
in their disgust, i can hear there ridicule, those whispers,
never noticing the real me. They may look at the clothes I wear,
They may know how I feel. They might think I'm always glad to be who i am,
But there's something they don't know, I'm the one who feels lonely, who feels sad.
They think I always win, family, friends lovers, but i'm really the loser.
They think my life is oh so great, a bed of roses, But if they could live in my shoes for one day,
they would understand my complexity. They may think I'm strong, they may think I'm tough,
But they have no idea how life can bring you down, when you're feeling down when you are lonely and strange,
No one should ever be alone in the night, in the dark......no one..
I'm going back over some artwork, that i feel had no real meaning. Take this Drawing, i see a Sullen Spider mutant figure most likely based on one of my favourite superhero's, The Figure, also drinking, smoking is in some respects myself at some point in the past . At the loss of my Parents that both died young the grief of losing 2 people that gave me life. the drinking and smoking that followed that with bands and music, The loneliness, that i suffered, we all suffer from at some point in our lives. all these emotions swirling over. we all have them, wanting to make a success of our lives, finding love, getting a secure career, wanting fame and fortune. losing love and family members, being bullied, or made fun of because of the way you look of the colour of your skin..i just needed to finish this drawing to what i really wanted to convey. and what i wanted to convey was, it's OK, if you're experiencing loneliness the same as me., i'm no different from you.
On a happier note, Spring is upon us ! well as soon as all these heavy winds have calmed down in the UK and the floods have subsided...Summer is on it's way...

Very profound and relevant themes for everybody. I agree we all feel isolated at some phase of life. Or face some other challenges like the bullying. I am truly sorry for your loss, my friend. I cannot imagine what it must have been like.
As for the artwork, very good as usual. Lots of fine details in outfit, the face reminds me a bit of Spidey. The posture shows the loneliness theme well.

Oh thank you so much indeed my friend. i'm OK, it took a long while to come to live just a normal life i'm still affected by it today but not so bad. i think everyone has been affected in some way, whether it;s a loss of a loved one, bullying, loneliness..etc...this is why i always love communication and we need to keep a community going on DA unless it will fade into nothing. i do not like the mass saturation of Fanart we see on here and these artists that upload them to DA but have no intention of communicating with their followers..i think it's sad, i think a good online community helps others in many ways but, i think the community is almost gone..i try to create subjects that get artists talking, i don't to it for numbers or popularity. i just want communication, people coming together sharing art and friendly discussion, maybe i'm being to pretentious, is it my right to change how artists think on here....

DA is a lovely community, obviously there's some bitter people on here but in general, most of the artists i come in contact with are wonderful, you included my friend.

Again I like the nice stylized pencil work with the lines etc its really nice and a comic book would look really cool like this, I like little details like the spilled drink as well! Still I always like the meanings to your pieces and I think everyone can relate to this in someway, we are all on this journey of ups and downs and even though most of the time it feels like a lot of downs and nothing else you have to try and stay positive and hope the best for the future to carry on. I think things would be a lot better if people were just nicer to eachother though and also if there wasn't such awful specific expectations put on everyone by society, just because your life hasn't come out exactly as society dictates as a average doesn't mean your a failure and everyone goes though different life experiences etc anyway.

Many thanks Ollie for noticing my personal favourites on this art like the Spilled drink and how the Coat hangs from the side of the Architecture. Again when i drew this, i wasn't happy with where i was actually going, i like meaning behind a drawing,'what am i saying', what is the context'? and so i half completed this piece a long while ago then came back to it recently and this figure all along was a depiction of me. being up in the cloud, but feeling the weight of everything, the addiction, drink smoking, you know, outcast sometimes, you've been there and for me having that alone feeling, i mean family members going, passing on. it's final, is it really final? i often think that, how can Atheist be so sure that there is nothing after this existence?

I guess we are all doing are inner searching and in some parts in our life we are doing it for a long time and working out how we should proceed, I think taking your inner feelings and turning it into art though is a good idea be it a drawing or music etc and really you could say its like a detoxin process which helps clear the mind and soul. I think its nice to have a stable middle ground though and that way you don't have to be too zealous about ideas and beliefs at either end of the spectrum and you can have a more flexible lifestyle, personally I think its nice to think we are all here for at least some reason and that our lives are productive even if we don't think it as we may do things and help others etc even if we don't see it ourselves. The mind likes to play its tricks and can even be your own worse enemy sometimes, I know mine has and that is when doing inner searching really helps.

Yes i understand Wayne. everyone leads different lives and everyone is unique by design. this is one of the reasons why Atheists are moronic. they believe we're all pointless entities the exist and then cease to be with no Soul, spirit or inner consciousness nothing, that should make us all a like shouldn't it ? without emotion without hope without consequence? without guilt or regret? i hate Atheists, i think their logic is insane and i'm not a religious type either. anyways, sorry i'm rambling and slightly tired so forgive if i made no sense then...thank you for the comment.

I look at this figure, this man and I see him. His thoughts are mine and it hurts friend, it hurts. I feel for him yet I’m feeling for myself and millions others just like us.
This is what your art does and this is exactly, precisely why you must not ever stop making it. I was supposed to see this, feel this, think this. Not just me but all the others. I know I’m not alone because I’ve met them. We exisit.
Line art, shading, sketching, pose... Yes it’s wonderful but let’s get to the real meaning of the piece. All those comments... “This is great”... “Wish I could draw like that.”... “Awesome!”
I’m listening to what isn’t being said. I refuse to believe I’m the only one personally effected by this piece. This hits home brother I’m telling you it does.

No worries about listening to the music Harvey it's not important. Ny message is always trying to address those moments that are life changing or thought provoking, whether it's a political issue, environmental issue or a personal issue - i needed to get this one of my chest because i always wondered, 'are there others who feel like me?', or have experienced these moments and well. of course, there are many like us. i think the person viewing this piece can relate to it, if they really want too. it hits you because you've been through these darker times and can connect, i admire you showing your feelings Harvey, takes a lot for anyone to talk about these tender subjects, so bless you my friend.
