Description So i remember Coming to Deviantart way back in 2011 and collabing with this User, ( he's deleted his page now, where the rest of this comic was placed) that had this very cool idea for a Comic. I was never fussed about creating a Comic, i love to read them - that's about it really but his idea seemed very entertaining to me.

The concept was basically, these 2 time travelling characters, 'The Art Thief'  (an 18 year old hooded character that one could only see part of his face - addicted to pop tarts and energy drinks) and Professor Diggil, (a genius Einstein-esq Character who wheres a top hat and a scarf around his face) mundane characters? maybe..same as i thought but the Storyline caught my Attention.

Time traveling in a ship, ' The Artemis', ( always reminded me of a Sharpened pencil at both ends ) to different periods in history, stealing Rare and unique Art treasures that would lead them to the most fabulous object in one of the many parallel universes, which leads them on a quest to find the lost Library of Alexandria which suddenly vanished off the face of the Earth !,  ( in the storyline that is ) the Library holds the next clue in the Search for the most fabulous object in the..blah..blah..  still mundane ? now wait..in order for them to locate the lost Library of Alexandria - they need the key or Tempest..ok, here's the link to frame.1  www.deviantart.com/brendan11/a…   and frame.2  www.deviantart.com/brendan11/a…   ok, so now the time traveling treasure hunters have uncovered the Key or Tin-man, missing it's leg but the thief decovers it while rummaging around within the hole, where Tempest was buried..The professor Activates Tempest and proceeds to extract information on the location of the lost library... now, like i said, i only have 3 sections of This episode because the rest was on the creators deviant page and now lost in time, ( he was on Text, me doing the rest, i only have these pencil Drawings..

As you can see in the frame, the Professor communicates with Tempest and Tempest Responds - meanwhile the Thief finds something else within the hole....

I wish that this comic could have continued! I really want to know what was on that document that was found. But, oh well. Your fellow collaborator disappeared, so I guess it's just up to our imagination to decide what happened next. Great artwork!

Oh thank you Mitch, yes, the user by the Name of Diggal i think he came up with the idea and we just went from there really. i'm not to hot on creating comics, i started this with the artist\writer\thinker but i lost interest like i normally do with art if it drags on to long. The document? i think it was something quite strange that obviously involved time travel and the Documents were in actual fact First class tickets for the Titanic. other than that i can't remember the interesting story line. something about locating part of the Key that was on board the maiden Voyage of Titanic, so these guys have to go back in time, and recover the key to the Library of Alexandra before the ship Sinks ..i always liked that part.

Cool! Thanks for filling in some more of the story. The plot sound very interesting indeed. Maybe we'll see his comic idea published one day.

Thanks Mr J. will be doing something with your ideas soon, just taking a couple days break after the last Comic 181 redo.

Looks like you had fun.  Love the quirky character design and the tonal work.  You can't this in ink?  But you don't have to, nowadays.  This is finished as is.
Some attention to the drawing is in order - like the balance of the tin man who's standing perfectly straight despite the absence of one of his lower legs.  (You'd never know without the gag)  The one eye guy is col, but the mast behind him looks as if it's a horn on his head.  One can go on, but that's part of the pleasure.  Hehe.

I find it damn hard to do stuff like this. (which is why I'm focusing on it, now.)

Good stuff!

It was fun to do at the time Pat, because it was a new direction for me, i'd never thought or was really interested in creating a comic format. it was the storyline and the quirky characters that my fellow deviant collab guy came up with. there were many other frames to the storyline but alas i do not have them.

Well, personally, that's why i was totally loving your idea, i like reading new storylines and looking at the artwork than actually setting about creating one. hope you continue with your comic.

Ugh.  I just asked a bunch of questions about frame 4 that you answered here.  Disregard those comments.
But you are interested in it, is what I get.  Not that you have the desire and drive, but the interest is there.

The graphic novel is my reason d'etre, so, don't worry - I'll continue.  But my way of doing it is to build up to and into it organically.  I can't do it the way others who do it poorly go about doing it.  They say the way to do it is just start.  Just do.  But they do it so poorly.  To me it's just an excuse to play and have fun.  At the end of the day there is really no intention to do more than that - to produce high quality.  They don't study the fundamentals of the art form, don't exercise the skills, don't do anything, really, except fantasize, have fun killing time, and pat each other on the back.  There is never a crit, or a plan for improvement.  The guys I knew years ago continue to crank out the same stuff at the same level of skill without showing growth.  Oh.  Maybe the drawing improves from time, but not composition, and things one has to think about to master.

So, long and slow, step by step.  But I'm putting the characters to work helping me do it.  Whomever doesn't contribute, doesn't get a part to play in the story.  LOL.

Oh, i see your Point..you wanted A brief explanation into how the Tin-man\Tempest\key is able to stand perfectly balanced on one leg? well after, the Thief, uncovers, Tempest, (complaining about being the lacky) He proceeds to drag, Tempest out of the hole - the Professor uses his device he haS in his hand to activite Tempest which in turn, Tempest springs up and corrects his Balancing systems due to the missing lower appendage. The mast behind the 'Art Thief' should've been thought out better - maybe some shading to separate them both.

It was fun, like i said Pat but i wouldn't want to continue.. creating comics? nah..reading them ? ok !

Would be interesting to Read your Graphic novel, if you get round to creating one.   i reckon i'll be cool AF !

Well, part of the challenge of graphic storytelling is to use the graphic part.  Words can explain anything, but one is still looking at something that doesn't look right.  Balance is balance - it's not a word.  When a biped gets one leg chopped out from under it, either he falls, or corrects the balance by adjusting the tilt of the structure - which is something we see.  Small point probably lost on the sci-fi aficionado, but, hopefully, not on the artist.

Have you yet gotten to see "the Adventures of Maria Colora"?

lol, the leg was buried in the hole with Tempest. the idea was made up as we went along not thinking about those little technicalities  but i understand what you're saying. btw, that's all in the past. it's nice to look at for myself but that's as far as it goes. i view it like never even had anything to do with it..makes me feel better.. then if there are any discrepancies i can't blame myself....lol...just like 181, eventually i'll look at it as if i never redone those faults.  it will look better - just the way i imagined it to be.

No not yet but i will XD

It sounds as art serves a very important part in a sensitive nature.  Not too sensitive, I hope, because I'd like to see you press on and the way, the training, is difficult.  One needs an thick skin at some points and ability to roll with the punches, meet the challenges.  All of those are within oneself.

After any match I like to rest.  Climb a mountain? Take time to enjoy the experience with a well deserved rest, vacation, holiday(while plotting the next climb, of course).
