Rodin once said, ''The artist must create a spark before he can make a fire and before art is born, the artist must be ready to be consumed by the fire of his own creation.'' François-Auguste-René Rodin was commissioned to Carry out the monumental task of sculpting\casting ''The Gates of Hell'' with 'the Thinker' or 'The Poet', (Bronze) at the centre of the composition in 1880. Most of the figures in the work, along with the main character, The Thinker, was based on, 'The Divine Comedy' which is more or less a long Italian Poem by 'Dante, Alighieri'. unless you've studied Rodin or Know the full history of, Rodin's Sculpt, 'The Thinker', you would not Connect this Famous Statue with, 'The Gates of hell'...anyway, This Very Famous Statue is known to millions around the globe but for the very small number of people, 'The Thinker', was Never of this Design and Certainly not connected to the gates of Hell...one of these very rare unique fascinating people, i communicate with on DA...I meet many interesting people on DA and one user in particular called Carpathian, (her username) i found extremely fascinating. We got talking on several interesting subjects, that i won't divulge because of her privacy but what information she told me about these other worldly subjects, really stopped me in my tracks and ponder hard about reality and our own consciousness. So, about a week ago, She Asked me, if i do requests? well, i do, as long as i find it appealing, attractive to me or something that stimulates my little grey cells. I found her request very interesting indeed, she told me about, ''The Thinker'' but the statue She recalls was nothing like Rodin's Statue, i was slightly Perplexed, then She went on the Describe Her Recollection of what ''The Thinker'' was originally Like...i had to take on the request..so i set about re-creating Carpathians Vision.
So Carpathian told me about How the statue was Sculpted from Marble. The Figures pose you see in the finished painting is from Carpathians Described recollection..so i started to paint in the renaissance style and gives the impression of a Light blue\Grey\White Marble Sculpt. The Figure had the appearance of a Greek God, so i enhanced the figures Anatomy in some fine detail and kept part of the statue vague because it has that expressionist style too. the light and dark Shadow contrast had to remain subtle on the statue to reflect the location, of mainly blues, yellow ochre and Green. I painted the background in the Style of Thomas Gainsborough, i always found his landscape artwork a good reference source and studied in that style. Carpathian talked about 4 pathways, obviously you can only see the Pathway leading north through those trees on your left which is connected to the western path and then off into the distance heading north... the southern path obviously in the Foreground, East and west pathways, connecting to the Southern path around the rock. Finished !
Carpathian is now satisfied with the Painting and i'm happy that i was able too recreate her original Recollection of, The Thinker.

i'm really happy inside that i managed to re-create an image that you remember. I love renaissance statues\art and to see your image of the Original thinker in a painting is quite mind blowing for me too. i look at the painting now as a spectator and along with everyone else, seeing this version for the first time, is quite fantastic.

Aww thank you so much Melissa. i'm glad you mentioned the metallic look, i thought the same when i was trying to capture a marble look, it was very difficult to paint Melissa but yes, i agree, it has a very shiny metallic look but then has you look closer it has that Marble sculpt look too.

I like it Brendan I think everyone sees art differently and you would be surprised the many comments that I got myself on images as people observe other things that I myself did not see.... but I like it and think you put a lot of good work into it. My Christmas was quiet I hope yours went well.

Very true some observe better then others. I had a quiet Christmas too. I must admit I had better ones growing up. But you know that all the joy has been taken out of Christmas, It is not what it used to be at one time. People just don't appreciate things like they used to. I always get sort of blue on the holidays.

Your words are my words Melissa, the Christmases, i remember were something to look forward too and you appreciated the presents, no matter what it was, today, it's all greed and nothing is a surprise and plus you can get anything all year round now. when i was younger, you could only get certain items at this time of year. and plus both my parents passed away and they made Christmas perfect

That is a fact Melissa. the little things at Christmas mean't more to me than anything else, the same with you, i hate over pretentious, arrogant people, those who seem to flutter through life never having to worry about anything and looking down on others. no matter what race colour of creed we are. they just think their shit don't stink, Sorry for the bad swear word. Yes, the same, my patents struggled, worked hard, and died far too early. Oh i have 2 brothers and 2 sisters, lots of nieces and nephews, and Gf's come and go but yes, i kinda spent Christmas on my own but it's cool. maybe i'll meet someone one day.

Oh I hear what you are saying Brendan and I totally agree with you. No worries on how you speak we all get heated under the collar. OH listen I know many friend s that have brothers and sisters and they never spent Christmas together. What happens with family is that they lose touch with each other and drift. I do not know why but it happens and then they spend Christ,as with friends and other people . And the holidays are not the same if you can't sit at the table with family. I really am sorry you spent it alone If I lived close by you I would had let you come to my house 😄 There is no family just me . But thank you for your good wishes. Übersetzungsfehlern.
Ich sage dir nun meine Wahrnehmung von deinem Kunstwerk.
Der Denker! Warum gibt es ausschließlich dieses eine symbolträchtige Form vom Denken? Jeder auf dieser Erde versteht sofort, ganz ohne Sprache, dass es sich um einen denkenden Prozess und Menschen handelt.
Viel spanender ist, warum er so in der Haltung verharrt? Was bringt einem Menschen dazu, so stundenlang auszuharren? Sinnlos?
Macht es heute irgendjemand? Nein! Wieso bloß verstehen wir universell diese Haltung?
Ich hoffe du verstehst worauf ich hinaus will. Du hast ein Thema aufgegriffen .was universell verständlich ist und deine Umsetzung / Zeichnung ist wirklich gut! Sehr gut!

Jana,i will try to explain. Do you know the original Statue by Rodin called, ''The Thinker?'' everyone knows this statue, it's Quite famous. well there are some people that remember the Statue to be much different than the original. have you ever heard of, The Mandela effect? it's like a state of false memory, when some people remember things different to what they originally were. Now Carpathian is one of those people who remember the Statue just like I've just painted it, this was her request, she asked me to paint the version she remembers.

That's Correct Jana, it's a Distortion of perception. The Mandela Effect is exactly that. Some people will Recognise the original, The Thinker Statue, sculpted by Rodin in 1880 but many other people Remember, The Thinker Statue to be completely different.
As for the Figure sat on a rock thinking or pondering, that is universal because we all have memory but when Science starts to manipulate our dimension then some peoples Memories are Changed dramatically. have you ever heard of CERN? if you read about CERN and hidden parallel universes you will have more of an idea on the Mandela effect.

Ich musste mir erst einmal einen Überblick darüber verschaffen, was du mir eigentlich sagen wolltest. Ich kannte vorher weder CERN noch den Mandela-Effekt.
Beides habe ich nun nachgelesen und in den Kontext unserer Unterhaltung gesetzt.
Ich wusste, dass sich Erinnerungen extrem stark beeinflussen lassen. Was mir fremd war und ist, ist der Mandela-Effekt.
Es kann sein, dass du und die anderen Recht damit haben. Ich habe weder eine Lösung für MICH noch eine MEINUNG dazu. Ich weiß es nicht besser.
Quantenphysik ist schon seit fast 30 Jahren ein Faszinosum für mich. Es ist für mich ein Faktum, dass es die Quanten gibt.
In der Metaphysik können sicherlich ganz viele Phänomene auftreten, die wir noch gar nicht in Betracht ziehen und/ oder in Betracht ziehen. Deshalb möchte ich auch nicht sagen dass es diesen oben genannten Effekt nicht gibt.
Ich glaube an die Liebe! Soll mir EINER in Form von Physis beweisen, dass es die Liebe gibt.... ich glaube, James, da sind wir einer Meinung! Das geht nicht und die Liebe lebt!!! Trotz Mikroskopen, Quantenphysik oder was auch immer an Gerätschaften der heutigen Zeit. Sie werden es nicht schaffen, die Liebe sichtbar zu machen.

Good evening Jana. I'm glad you did a bit of research on CERN and the Mandela effect. Personally Jana i agree with you, The CERN maybe causing False Memory or, 'The Mandela Effect' it is definitely observed by many people as a Dimensional shift phenomenon.
If you can imagine this reality being just one parallel, now what if there were billions and billions of parallels, and the CERN is punching holes into these Parallels or dimensions.
Quantum physics, knowing how Gravity time and space works is mans greatest search and time travel will always be something to ponder by many Scientists. There is natural time slips occurring, they're very rare Jana but some lucky people have stories of natural time slips. where some people have suddenly been transported back in time. that's a natural phenomena
Metaphysics, is such a brilliant philosophical study, you have a natural Metaphysical talent, with Abstract Jana, it's a sense of knowing, being, identity, time, and space. you create Abstract therefore, it's a sense of Metaphysical identity.
But you, are correct. Love is real, love is a physical form, love is more than science beyond time and Space, it brings one closer together. Love is so alive !!

Was die Metaphysik betrifft. Erwischt. Ja, das ist mein Feld, das ich sooo liebe.
Und ja, auch darin stimme ich mit dir überein. Die Liebe ist lebendig und trotzdem wird sie ein Physiker in Form von Elementarteilchen, Atomen oder was weiß ich, was noch so kommt in der Zukunft, beweisen können.
Liebe ist die Summe all der Zuneigung, Bewunderung, Toleranz, Bedürftigkeit, Sexualität usw. zu diesen einem Menschen. Ich weiß schon. Es gibt Menschen, die auch mehrere Menschen gleichzeitig auf der Partnerschaftsebene lieben können.

Thank you Jana, this is why i love Abstract and i knew that you have a Metaphysical identity. you study Philosophy so therefore the Metaphysical abstract is created through your artwork, which i find interesting. i observe many abstracts on DA and try to explain the metaphysics but many fail to understand until they learn about the subject. you understand it very well indeed.
Love can stimulate every Atom, every neuron, the physical body becomes, part of the, 'love' ethos, the affection and embrace for a loved one, yes those elementary particles form. Sexual empowerment, close partnership, yes even having multiple partners love goes beyond science, it's a force like no other.

Anyone who denies love and sexual desire has never fully been truly in love. Yes indeed, we must wish everyone success in finding love. Everybody needs to love some body at some point in time. what is life without love? what is life without the one to truly find and love forever more. not everyone finds true love but for those who do, true love will last a life time..i hope 2020 will be a time of new beginnings for positives, lots of love and peace. it's all there for us if we want it.

Indeed, it's the style of Painting i do instead of lineart\hatching. i wanted to Create a sculpted look as if it actually had the appearance of being made from Marble. Well it was A request for Carpathian.
