Description
This is what happens when you don't market your movie properly. Or more like when you get screwed over by the foreign distribution company.EDIT - 8/9/2012: Huh? What's with all the messages on my folder? Wait a minute, why is everyone comenting on this comic? Oh no, you are not telling me that...*goes to check EqD* SETHIS-TOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!
Seriously though, thank you for featuring my comic! Again ^_^; But hey, this has actually given me a chance to correct a few mistakes and edit a few things out. Thanks for pointing out the errors on AJ's speech. I also noticed that the word "bunnies" was missing a letter, fixed that too.
I have never done something that got over three thousand views in like seven years. This got more than nine thousand, just today (8/9/12). I am flabergasted. Thank you so much <3

For some reason the face Fluttershy is making looks familiar. I can't put my finger on it......or maybe it's some thing unrelated.
An don't worry about Fluttershy I'll hug her and snuggle her and keep her safe until she recovers......

I wonder what would happen after they finished watching the blues brothers.
SpikeBurps as a letter appears in his hands and he looks at who it is for) Hey it's for fluttershy! (Gives fluttershy the letter)
Fluttershyafter reading the letter, puts on a conveniantly placed pair of sunglasses and a fedora) Girls, we're on a mission from Celestia.

The weird thing is that they inserted... Violet, is it? The girl bunny who gets got by a hawk? Yeah, she wasn't in the book at all.
The book has less pointless bunny death and is an awesome read. After reading it the dark edge of the film makes less sense to me!

More than just that XD I actually really liked that movie until I read the book...The movie was insulting to the writer. They rape the CRAP outta that story to fit it into that, agreed, unnecessarily dark and bloody britflick. I really wish someone would remake it and do it some justice..AND WHATS THE DEAL WITH KILLING BLACKAVARE AT THE END?! He was my fav character movie AND book, and he never died in the book!

It WAS like someone just wanted to mess with kids' heads, wasn't it?
The book was a calm and pleasant experience. The film's a different beast entirely... Hope it didn't put anyone off reading the book... Maybe someone was miffed at all the books/etc played down for the kid's film version? Though it'd be hilarious if they did the same with the new Hobbit film and added in a female dwarf who gets killed pointlessly by a giant eagle!
I need to re-read the book sometime. It's where the good stuff is.

LOL indeed. Authors did once love to traumatize children XD should read some of the original "Grimms Fairy Tales" XD But never really understood why it was for "kids" in the first place because the book wasn't a children's book? It was more for young adults I'd think just by the vocabulary and content XD. I was just re-reading it the other day for kicks. Such an amazing book!

Next try TMNT if you want a classic "why did someone think this should become kid-worthy" example. They used to kill people and get drunk.
And aye, fairy tales... Though to be fair the Brothers Grimm DID tone down a lot from the older versions (e.g. took the hints of incestual rape out of Sleeping Beauty), and those were always meant for kids. Difference being that coming-of-age stories are a species wide thing for humans and they all carry important messages about finding maturity. The film of Watership Down's message that death waits in horrible forms all around us all the time isn't particularly realistic or helpful.

TehPage In reply to HareTrinity [2012-01-11 05:21:37 +0000 UTC]
LOL XD indeed
Then again, kids have never been as innocent as they seem I suppose. We all need to mature in some way. There was a time when the lives of the young really were constantly preyed upon by dangers just as those faced by your average rabbit. But in today's society it did seem a bit unnecessary XD. Aside from Water Ship Down I think the next bloodiest animated movie I'd seen as an early teen was the Japanese anime movie, Princess Mononoke.
I just find it funny that we edit to ridiculous extremes what is played on "kids TV" and then we produce movies that appeal to children that are so...oppositely appropriate LOL.

The book it's based on is pretty graphic, too, in terms of violence/death; etc. Though I've read it myself, and have a copy (it's one of my major faves), it, like the movie, is definitely NOT for little kids. Even some of the more jaded ones around these days.

When I started reading this comic and got to the movie title I facepalmed. "Oh no, here we go. No fluttershy, no!" It was like a horror movie, couldn't tell her the murderer was behind her, no what I mean? The only thing I never got about that movie was the title. I honestly initially expected something with a submarine battling aliens underwater or something relative, not a bunch of bunnies journey of death to paradise. TwT
