We all love Sonic the Hedgehog. Ever since the Genesis console and that speedy, spikey, blue ball shot across our televisions (okay really he stayed in the same spot everything else moved, but that’s nit-picking) Sonic has held a place in our gaming hearts.So it’s with dismay that almost every damn game that comes out, has something so wrong with it, it pushes Sonic closer to the final death. Sonic the Hedgehog for Xbox360 has a long list of problems, but the biggest flaw with it, turned out to have nothing to do with programing, but with a certain plot point involving a human girl.
The comic shows the dismay of many (or few, seeing as most gave up playing) felt when they witnessed this scene.
By the way, this is a spoiler, but this won’t ruin any part of the game for you, it’s not that major in terms of the main plot-line.

I never really understood why so many people hated on this moment?
I mean the game is crap for legitimate reasons (broken mechanics, story clearly ripped from an unmade fantasy game script, forcing in bad characters)
but this moment is *shrug*, I mean he's a toon. Not an animal. Its like hating on Rodger and Jessica Rabbit (which no one does), because in the setting of the story its not weird. Heck the story not once even really acknowledges that they are anthro critters or she's human...*another bit of evidence they stole the script from an unmade game*.

Although he never succeeds, I never hear anyone gripe about Bowser kidnapping Peach for one convoluted reason or another. The most prominent one being that he wants to marry her. At the end of the day it's a fictional universe. The games and shows depicting anthro on human relationships aren't telling viewers to date, marry, or heaven forbid... bang an animal. That should be common sense, really.

If anything a lot of people "ship" Bowser and Peach.
Fun fact: In the original Sonic the Hedgehog game he was supposed to have a human girlfriend *modeled apparently* after Jessica Rabbit. But they ditched the idea so as to avoid any direct comparisons to Mario; heck same reason Crash Bandicoot ditched the girl friend character after the first game (although Crash always felt like someone lifted the unmade script for Sonic's first game), only going its own direction the next game.
Sonic wouldn't bring the "save the princess" thing in till Sonic CD, but ditch it right after.

I've heard of Madonna as well as the reasons she was scrapped. This is just my opinion, but considering the era back then, I don't think her being a thing in the Sonic series would have been that big of a deal because people allowed for the willing suspension of disbelief to not cause them to flip out over that sort of thing. In fact, I'm pretty sure Droopy had a few human love interests, too.

Definitely, why I was always so confused over people doing the whole "she's human, he's a hedgehog" thing with Sonic 06,
hence the Jessica and Roger comparison. Droopy had human love interests, heck watch the tv special (Garfield Babes and Bullets)...its implied Garfield *or alt-universe detective his imagination or whatever* Garfield gets it on with human women.

What about Hana and the wolfman in Wolf Children, Bojack Horseman, Regular Show, Hattonslayden's artworks etc.? hell i have a friend who does a story series of Minerva Mink with a human guy.

One kissing an animal isn't bestiality. I kiss my puppies all the time and it's not bestiality. And they never had sex. Also Sonic isn't an animal. He's an anthro which means he's Human on the inside which thereby voids any claims of bestiality. Furry yes but it's not inappropriate and not bestiality. Also he wasn't dead. Elise herself said so in the previous cutscene. And even then kissing someone you love that's dead isn't necrophilia. When my grandmother died I gave her a kiss goodbye at her funeral. That's perfectly normal and isn't necrophilia so both arguments against the pairing are invalid.

Umm no Sonic is not a anthro. He never was a human and can't be human on the inside. Well either way IMO its gross. But I wouldn't mind SonElise if Elise weren't human. Just like I would LOVE ShadRia if Maria weren't human either way your points are valid. It just seems weird that SEGA would go that deep.

Yes he is an Anthro. He is Human in every thing but his appearance thus his Human side far outweighs his animal side. Species doesn't matter for love. As long as both members can consent to a relationship then it's perfectly fine regardless.

I've looked up many different examples for anthro but sonic has not yet shown up as being one. I mean at the very least she didn't have to kiss him. sega seriously just had amy stand by like oh whatever when in reality amy would have beat the crap out of elise for kissing sonic either way IMO the only good characters in Sonic O6 were Shadow, Silver and Mephiles. *Amy sounded plain aweful in that game* I respect Elise but I can't stand that SEGA always makes one time use characters that never reappear. I might like Elise more if she had been in a few other games.

Anthro means that the only animal thing about them is their appearance. Nothing about Sonic's personality, actions, behaviors, or emotional reactions are anything like an animals. Sonic is very much Human on the inside and the only thing that is animal about him is his appearance which is what makes him Anthro. Actually it was needed. The kiss was used to revive him by channeling the Chaos Emerald's energy through Elise. They needed an opening and the only opening (aside from one that I'm sure would be even worse XD) was Sonic's mouth. Plus that was Elise's first time using the Chaos Emeralds. Unlike Sonic she wouldn't know how to transfer their power through simple touch. Thus since she was the vessel for Iblis she could also be used for the vessel of the Chaos Emerald's energy.
And Amy is not like that. For one thing the kiss wasn't meant to be romantic as Elise expressed shyness in an earlier cutscene on the topic of love, and for another thing if Elise didn't kiss Sonic then he would have died and the whole world would have collapsed into time and space itself. Amy knew they had no other choice thus she allowed it and didn't get angry about it.

Well either way I still respect Elise and I respect Princess Sally, but they will never be on my list of fave characters. I guess the way you explained it kinda does make sense. I guess it may partly be that I think kissing on screen whether its video games or movies is just gross. Either way, (Amy is my fave character) it just seems to me that Amy would be mad because take in Sonic Chronicles: The Dark Brotherhood for example Amy threatened Rouge for merely flirting with Sonic. And even though I love Amy I just hate how they portray her as a insane freak of nature. I guess it would kind of make sense, but it seems to me that SEGA was trying to imply Sonic and Elise as being a 'official' almost romantic couple but then in the end the whole entire events of the game never happened. Which I find confusing, even after watching all the cutscenes. (I haven't played the actual game though because the only 2 gaming consoles I have are my WII and DS.)

i face palmed when i saw this scene on youtube. i was surprised amy didn't try to rip elise in half for kissing her man. the programmers took that too far.
