Description The FletchAir Dagger is a two seat recreational and sport aircraft. She Incorporates a zero-point energy anti-gravity (electrogravitic) drive for silent VTOL (vertical takeoff and landing). This “UFO” energy system heats incoming air, and produces jet thrust. No turbine or fuel is required. The Dagger was designed for the aerodynamic flying purest and is equally at home hugging the terrain at high subsonic speeds or skimming the atmosphere at mach 3.

Based on an earlier pencil design I did a few years back. I used an Apple Pencil, an iPad Pro and Procreate.

Imagine if this was in Ace Combat, it actually kind of resembles the Skelter from Infinite Warfare. I wish they'd make an Ace Combat game set in the 2060s after AC3.

Could see this as a Joint Service Strike Fighter.

This looks a lot like the Lockheed SR-71 Blackbird. That's by no means a bad thing, it's just something I noticed. It's still a great looking piece .

Thanks so much! And you are right, there are definitely SR-71 elements in her design. The SR-71 still looks like something from the future despite being over fifty years old.

A sleek and beautiful aircraft.

I just found your page.  All of your designs have a grace and class that most seem to have forgot in space craft.

Very well done.

If you were to contact one of the American a/c manufacturers with this design, I'm sure someone would take notice.  It's a fantastic design I could see as a fighter a/c.  The low dorsal air intake is an interesting idea.

Well, I remember reading that most, if not all, fighter a/c start off as concept drawings and that's what I thought this drawing was when I first saw the thumbnail of it.  Back in the middle 1970s, I designed an a/c with forward swept wings for a story I was planning on writing.  (I never even started the story.)  A few years later, I saw that Grumman had taken a Northrop F-5 and put forward swept wings on it.  It wasn't quite what I had designed but, it was close enough that I actually thought someone had stolen my drawing and taken it to Grumman.  LOL.

If you have anti-gravity, why did you give it wings?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

JamesF63 In reply to Anzac-A1 [2019-02-24 09:54:38 +0000 UTC]

Because it’s for people who like traditional aerodynamic flying. AG is only used for emergencies. Think of it as a parachute.

Anzac-A1 In reply to JamesF63 [2019-02-24 09:58:54 +0000 UTC]

Fair enough. It could also be used to reduce the lift needed, allowing for smaller wings than normal.

JamesF63 In reply to Anzac-A1 [2019-02-24 10:07:06 +0000 UTC]

Yeah, that’s absolutely true. However certain racing, aerobatic and mock combat organizations and events don’t allow mass/inertia cancellation to be used during competitions.

Sort of how Formula One doesn't allow active aerodynamics.
