Description
From the series Man in the WaterIt was a surreal experience standing alone in the middle of what used to be a road. During the summer months this street would be lined with cars and the beach to the right of this photo would be packed with sunbathers. However on this particular day with temperatures hovering around 0C, strong winds blowing in from the west, water and sand was being washed ashore from a violent Lake Huron. Georgian Bay is known for at times having extreme weather where waves of 2 meters or more are not uncommon, this coupled with the lake level being above normal created some unusual conditions, with a paved road and sidewalk being completely covered by sand and water.

Let's all hope Ontario gets a normal spring where the beaches aren't again submerged by heavy rain and/or melts of excessive snowfall.

Im a bit torn on this subject to be honest. If we have a spring similar to this past one, then I can continue photographing this series.
