Summer lasted well into the middle of September this year but then came to an abrupt end shortly after that. We are now paying for the warm and dry summer we have been lucky enough to enjoy the last few months, as the rain and cold have moved in and it looks like this weather isn't going away anytime soon.For the first couple of days on a recent camping trip a took, I was lucky to have very mild weather which made paddling the Georgian Bay coastline a pleasure. The one thing I hadn't counted on were the lingering mosquitoes and since I had no brought any repellent, I was itching all through the night.
