Description
No pain, no gain. Two weeks ago Southern Ontario experienced its last winter storm with winds gusting to over 100 kph and a mix of precipitation including intense rains, ice pellets, freezing rain and snow. It really was a miserable weekend to be outside but of it's unusual conditions like these that draw me to pull out the camera and brave the elements.
Last year with the water levels on Lake Ontario being extremely high (more than a meter above average), much of the land surrounding the lake became flooded due to strong onshore winds. This year however was different, lake levels are at near normal but there are still problem areas such as this park in Oakvile, Ontario, Canada. I decided to brave the extreme winds, rain and even the large amounts of ice floating around in the flooded areas of this newly created pond. Hiding my camera behind a building to protect it from the rain and the wind, I managed to get a few sharp photos before I headed home to dry off and warm up.

wtg man. I'd have stayed inside. However, its often those extreme scenarios that yield the best results
