Description We climbed the stairs of this condominium that was under construction for the purpose of watching and photographing the Victoria Day fireworks, which as it turns out were too far away to truly appreciate.  Instead we were greeted by a passing thunderstorm, I noticed some of the lightning strikes were hitting the CN Tower so I unpacked my camera and took a few exposures before getting a shot that I was really excited about.  On the way out, I spotted the security guard as we rounded a corner, we tried to hide but it was too late as he had already seen us.  He asked us what we were doing there and then told us to leave....we were lucky.  Despite failing to get a great view of the fireworks we were lucky to receive another kind of show put on by nature itself, and what a show it was!!

The composition in this is phenomenal, because it gives the illusion that one of those forks is hitting the corner of this building close to ya... which I'm sure it isn't (is it?), but what an amazing display from mother nature, herself! And a gorgeous capture indeed! I'm so infatuated with lightning!

I see what you are saying. No that offshoot of the main bolt was a lot further away.  If it had hit the building in the foreground I would have been very worried. lol

I'll bet you would have been, but that's just the
epic beauty of this old capture of yours, for sure!!

Lucky to get a guard like that - and a fantastic capture as well. Real fireworks are better than fake ones anyways.

Oh definitely, I love thunderstorms!

Yes we were very lucky, it doesn't always end up that way when getting caught.

Outstanding! What settings did you use to accomplish such a night shot?

It was a 30 second exposure but that's all I can remember, maybe ISO 400. Thanks.
