Description Tremors art yay!

I love that scene at the end of Tremors3 where Burt is playing rc cars in the desert with the resident graboid El Blanco. Theirs is a love-hate relationship... El Blanco is a constant and persistent threat, which is the kind of threat Burt thrives on. EB gives him something to survive all the time, and without the threat of globalnuclear war (he didn't take the fall of the soviet union very well) he'd be hard pressed to find something as dangerous and unpredictable as perfection valley in this day and age. Plus El Blanco's existence in the valley makes the area his protected habitat and lets Burt and his fellow Perfectionites keep their isolated lifestyle (staves off housing development). And El Blanco... he likes Burt best ^^ this is because he's learned to identify Burt's vibrations through the earth over anyone else's. He'd leave a sure meal to chase Burt down and eat him. This is the nature of their complicated life ^^

I wanted to get the nicer side of their relationship ^_^

Back to working on my demo reel

And trivia... did you know Michael Gross is 6'3.5"!?! I had no idea he was that tall! Sorry, just geeking out

Somehow, I managed to start with the second, then the third movie, and I honestly don't know if I ever saw all of the first movie... but yeah, I loved the series regardless. It was just so clever and funny, especially in the face of (I thought) a terrifying and ever-changing threat.
And yeah, I loved Burt's relationship with El Blanco in 3. It was clear he just wanted to have to fight for his life every day (or at least have some excitement, but really fighting for his life was an ideal), and now he's got buddy to chase him wherever he goes.

It might be that EB just hates Burt and wants to eat him because he's survived or teased it so much. but I like to think EB has grown accustomed to chasing Burt, and if it ever succeeded in eating him, would be disappointed.

I agree... they're cut from the same cloth ^^ Both live to be persued.

And the first movie is my favorite... Burt and his wife are just adorable and it breaks my heart a little that they didn't bother replacing Heather in the other movies, she was great. And she was Reba McIntire.

You didn't mention the Series, have you watched it?

I didn't really like it. I felt like 3 had a good conclusion, both with Burt and the graboid (my next-favorite part of the movies) life-cycle. The series didn't add much, and the sudden introduction of Mixmaster in the second episode seemed cheap. Then again, I only saw a few episodes. I heard that the episodes were rearranged thanks to executive meddling, so it may be that the "This is our format, every single episode will be exactly like this" message I got was also re-enforced by some audience-underestimating executives. Also, Doc Brown showing up and having been there the whole time.

It might have grown on me if I watched more episodes, if they didn't stick to plain monster-of-the-week plots I expected.

There were a couple of those... mixmaster eps... they also reprised the other monsters too... episodes about shriekers, assblasters and graboids eating people are just good fun. They rigged this "contract" with Burt and Tyler that made them official government Graboid exterminators so whenever there's an appearance somewhere they ship them off to a new set to fight it. I love the franchise for the silliness so I was a-ok with the series.

Maybe if I find the time, I'll just hunt down the graboid/et al episodes and watch those

God I wish they continued the TV series, cuase the 4th movie being a "origin" type of the story kinda wasn't very full filling

You can find it online to download as a torrent or posted on youtube. They are trying desperately to get it on dvd, but from what I hear Universal is not being very cooperative.
