12/05/14 - The world turns on the Passo Giau.
This was taken on a a particularly beautiful evening in the Italian Dolomites. The full moon was exceptionally bright and was actually casting shadows on the mountains. The orange glow to the right of the shot is not sunset (this was taken just after midnight), but rather the lights from the nearby town of Cortina. This is a single long exposure shot, no stacking has been done.

Ohhhhh....I thought this was a photo-manipulation. This just looks too surreal to be 'just a lucky shot' !
It's so cool { I'm a sucker for stars + landscape }
The best time of day to of taken this, for sure. The colours are radiant and gorgeously BOLD. They stand up trying to out-do each other and it just made beautiful shadows and glowing, reflective, light off the mountains and grass...This is one of my favourite landscape photos, definitely.
Oh, and the spiral the stars make at the top, and the swirl the clouds are making towards the mountains; so gorgeous ! Very smooth and soft. I could totally dream about this.

This is a beautiful shot. I think the long exposure helped make it that much lovelier. The swirling effect of the stars in the sky certainly makes this a very unique view.
The focus of the shot is superb! The mountains and trees are extremely clear, offering us a wonderful view of these peaks.
