Description
Amtrak's Excursion Train or as crew's called it Extra 406, & Extra 156 depending on the direction, heading back into CUS towards it end of it's 40 min. ride around Amtrak Yard, & Chicago Union Station. Amtrak F40 NPCU(with HEP) 406, & 145 leading it back into CUS on the end of the 1:30pm run.
I was on the 11:30am run, & when it came back into CUS it blew an air hose, & went into Emergency, & it took them about 20 mins. to fix it. It was worth the $5.00 for the ride, that was suppose to be 40 mins. took over an hour, because of other train traffic, & the air hose detached.

Thanks, but this was not the 40th ann. train, that train was on the east coast(New York I Think), but 406 was detached from the ann. train.

Unusual for the power to be taken off. Was hard to tell from the way you took this shot not showing much of the train! Thanks for the info, bud!

I keep seeing the Wm J Cassidy Tire Co in similar, older shots. Nice to see it's still around.
