Star Trek: Deep Space Nine - Series II
SEASON 1, EPISODE 8: "The Punishment does not fit the Crime"

This is the sequel to "Star Trek: DS9" set in the year 2497 on the new space station Deep Space Nine with a new crew.

This Deep Space Nine and some of the main characters have already been introduced in the episode "Starlight" from "Star Trek: Stories Across Time And Space".

The first picture shows Lieutenant Myla Blackbourne troubled by a murder case she is investigating. The alternate image shows Orion Erno, who was a suspect in the murder.

A Short Description Of The Story:
There's been a murder on Deep Space Nine. Lieutenant Commander Myla Blackbourne takes charge of an investigation that initially goes nowhere. The more answers she gets, the more new questions arise. When she finds the suspect, Orion Erno, she thinks the case is closed. But Erno insists he is innocent, even though all the evidence points to him. Fearful of spending the rest of his life in prison as a murderer, he commits suicide. Myla is a little distressed by this, but she believes he is the killer she was looking for, so she doesn't mourn his death at all. The next day, however, another murder occurs and the real killer, Bajoran Tallon, is caught right at the scene. Tallon suffers from mental problems and has stopped receiving treatment. The case is closed, but Myla Blackbourne is not satisfied with the outcome of the investigation. She quickly leaves the crime scene with tears in her eyes. She feels responsible for the death of Erno, who was truly innocent, and whom she has identified as the murderer without further examination of all the evidence...
