if anything I think it was because any other shade of yellow they had would probably have clashed with the yellow rim of his hat.

Hmm...I've heard that the SNES Link's in-game hair was pink because of palette restrictions or something... But the SNES could show like 256 simultaneous colors a layer and that pinkish color is rarely ever used, so I've never really understood that...Oh, and nice shading on the tunic!
